Ruby Seafood Buffet

We will be sailing on Ruby next week Jan.24th.Does any one know if there are any hot foods or are they just cold salads? Thanks for any info any one can give me as to what they offer.

On first night's seafood buffet, the crab, lobster claws and shrimp are all chilled but other meal choices are hot including vegetables, beef, chicken, fish etc.

On the Jan. 10 cruise on Ruby there was no seafood buffet on the first night. The wait staff said this was a rumor that they had it.

Yes there are hot foods available as well.

:pWe were on Ruby 1/10-1/17. Hubby was really looking forward to the seafood buffet. We asked a staff member (don't remember which one) about it and were told "Yes, seafood buffet tonight". Hubby and brother-in-law skipped the dining room and went in search of the elusive seafood buffet. By the time they found out there was NO seafood buffet on the first night my sister and I were already seated for dinner at a shared table for 8 with no way for them to join us. We had a GREAT dinner in the dining room and they ate at Cafe Carib! LOL Another couple at our table said they had also looked for the non-existent SFB only to find out there wasn't one and so came to the dining room. My sister and I had to giggle about it but the boys weren't too happy. ;) All in all, it was a great ship though. Hubby will write a review soon.

I wonder why they decided to eliminate it. It certainly was there for our 11/22 sailing.

We asked on the 10th sailing also and were told "not tonight". From reading here the Crown and Emerald are doing it so it dos seem odd the Ruby stopped!. We missed it!!

Does anyone know if it's been discontinued fleet wide??? I know it's hard to believe, but after four Princess cruises, I only discovered it this past July on the Caribbean Princess. I was looking forward to it on the Ruby in July!
