TeresaJenkins Posted November 16, 2004 #1 Share Posted November 16, 2004 I am going on my 1st cruise Jan. 1, so I know very little. I was wondering if there was such a thing as POLITICAL cruises? Thank you, TeresaJenkins
ssapiers Posted November 17, 2004 #2 Share Posted November 17, 2004 Political cruise? As in all the same political party or leanings? Or a mixer ( now that would be interesting)?? Bill
TeresaJenkins Posted November 19, 2004 Author #3 Share Posted November 19, 2004 I don't want to fear for my safety on a ship. Or have people jumping overboard. LOL No mixing! Interesting is an understatement, and I'm sure the press would come along just to capture to highlights.
CruznTom Posted November 29, 2004 #4 Share Posted November 29, 2004 We'd never get anywhere if politics had anything to do with a cruise.:D
teencruiser18 Posted December 12, 2004 #5 Share Posted December 12, 2004 The National Review, a Republican publication, had a "post-election" cruise around Nov.5, I believe, on the Zuiderdam. I was unable to go, but I think that they just had guest speakers that were editorial writers and such, but nobody that holds a political office. So, it is possible, but highly unlikely. SherriZ366 Posted December 14, 2004 #6 Share Posted December 14, 2004 Sometimes the National REview Cruise has elected officials. This year it had Ed Gillespie, head of the RNC, Michelle Malkin Some interesting info comes up when you google the cruise.
Bootscootin Posted December 18, 2004 #7 Share Posted December 18, 2004 Hope there are no Canadian politicians on board, the ship would lean so far to the left that it would surely turtle !!!!! Maybe a good thing! :D
dfgf Posted December 18, 2004 #8 Share Posted December 18, 2004 In response to the above, National Review is a conservative publication not a Republican publication. National Review is holding their next cruise in summer of 05. Here are the details: http://www.nrcruise.com/ Dave
BottledRed Posted January 7, 2005 #9 Share Posted January 7, 2005 Hehe... I just saw this after reading about the salon.com seminar cruise! Just in case you don't know salon, it's a left-wing website I belong to. Too bad it's too expensive for my budget! It'll be on ms Zuiderdam Feb 26 - Mar 5. kjunea Posted March 26, 2005 #11 Share Posted March 26, 2005 Seems to me I read where quite a few of Kerry's staff went on a cruise this January so that they wouldn't have to see all the Inauguration that week. Would have loved to have been on that one and heard all the scuttlebutt!
