Check in times

We are cruising the CB in Feb and was wondering about the check in times. They say that it starts at 2:00 but recommended checking in after 3:00. Can anyone tell me if it is truly that busy in the first hour or is that just a way to spread it out over a few hours?

Yes, the first hour is definitely the busiest time.

Get to the pier about 11am--with jsut a short wait you will be onboard by noon- Documents state to arrive about 2-- most first timers will do that--

People will start lining up well before 1pm, so when they start checkin, there will be a long line.

I was on the Crown 2 weeks ago. We got to the pier at 12:00, went to the Elite lounge and were on the ship and in our cabin by 12:30.
