Dining in the Lido

The evening dress code extends through the public indoor areas for the entire evening. Will you be asked to remove yourself from such an area if you are not dressed to code? Probably not---it has not happened to my knowledge.

However, it will be seen as demonstrating a lack of respect for your fellow passengers.

Bummer, don't want to show disrespect for fellow passengers so that leaves me what options, staying on lido deck or going back to my cabin?

Most of the dress code is based on the dining rooms -- having been on many cruises -- after dinner -late dinner, no on seems to care = you can walk the promenade, do the casino( money for HAL) enjoy your cruise.

I, too, have been on many cruises. And in the Daily Program there is a request that you remain in evening wear throughout the entire evening.

The Lido, Lido Deck, and outside decks are not included in that.

Thanks momatibm, on my first two cruises I was with friends and did the formal thing, on my Ryndam cruise I hid out on formal nights as I was casual and ate at the lido and rushed back to my cabin.

I was clearing up a few last minute details with HAL today and I asked her if I ate in the Lido and was wearing just slacks and a nice blouse if that was acceptable for the casino on formal nights (sorry I was't thinking about the shows) and she said "absolutely".:)

My husband is 'Mr Sociable'. :o When he goes on a cruise he wants to meet his fellow passengers. So, for open seating we always ask for a shared table. He rarely eats in the Lido, preferring to mingle in MDR. I have lunch in the Lido but I eat with him and some other pax in MDR for dinner. :o

 

If I talk my husband into dinner in the Lido, will he be able to request a shared table so we can eat with at leat one other couple, preferably two?

 

Since lobster doesn't seem to be on Lido menu on formal evenings, I guess I will continue to pack his tux. Lobster is something he really looks forward to on formal nights.
