Private taxi in Matzatlan?

What is the best way to drive around town with two 80 year old ladies and one 56 year old lady? Arriving in May 09 and older women want to go to explore places from many years ago. If I book from Princess the cost is quite high. Can we rent an open air little taxi at the Pier? Is there a good company to call in advance? If safety is an issue I can take the husband but we will need the larger car.Any help???

WOW, I admire your spunk. Yes, there is a very nice staging area inside the port terminal where the open air and a/c van style taxis are available; and yes, you would likely be very safe with one of these cabs, as they value the right to directly service the cruise passengers within the cruise port terminal.

 

In answer to your question of a good tour company. Many folks have had terrific experiences with private tour operators. We suggest that you also consider this option. We do not keep track of any, but if you are patient, and keep reading in this forum for the next few weeks, you will shurely be rewarded with several terrific private tour operator options.

I just booked with Mazatlan Frank because of all the great reviews I have heard about him on these boards. If you do a search quite a bit will come up........

We also booked our private tours through Mazatlan Frank. He couldn't take us himself but he recommended one of his friends in Mazatlan and one in Puerto Vallarta.:D He is very reputable and I'm sure we will have great tours! Good luck and have fun!

We sail out on Feb. 21. We are in Mazatlan Feb. 24 and Puerto Vallarta on Feb. 25.
