sailorgirl Posted February 12, 2009 #1 Share Posted February 12, 2009 Since the cruise port and the airport are close by, can one assume that an 11:40 a.m. flight out would be a safe bet? Mercury supposed to arrive at 7 a.m.
LuAnn Posted February 12, 2009 #2 Share Posted February 12, 2009 I would opt to take your own luggage off just in case! That way you can be first off and unless someone "throws a monkey wrench" with immigration (which can happen) you'll be fine. The airport is a 10 minute ride from the pier...max! grandgeezer Posted February 12, 2009 #3 Share Posted February 12, 2009 We were on the Mercury over Christmas and New Years. We were in port well before 7, but with the immigration and luggage unloading (lots of it, 15 day cruise) they didn't start letting people off until 9:45. A shorter cruise might be better. The Oosterdam (HAL) was next to us and we saw people getting off shortly after 8:00. It was a 7 day Mexican Riveria cruise. Even with two ships in port, there were plenty of cabs and we were at the airport 20 minutes after we retrieved our luggage.
golffore2001 Posted February 12, 2009 #4 Share Posted February 12, 2009 We got off the Summit on 2/6. We had out luggage and in a Taxi to hotel by 8:45. We were the only ship in port maybe that made it quicker. This was our 4th cruise out of San Juan and have always been off pretty quick, but things can happen.
