Early flight out of SAN

I would opt to take your own luggage off just in case! That way you can be first off and unless someone "throws a monkey wrench" with immigration (which can happen) you'll be fine. The airport is a 10 minute ride from the pier...max! LuAnn

We were on the Mercury over Christmas and New Years. We were in port well before 7, but with the immigration and luggage unloading (lots of it, 15 day cruise) they didn't start letting people off until 9:45. A shorter cruise might be better. The Oosterdam (HAL) was next to us and we saw people getting off shortly after 8:00. It was a 7 day Mexican Riveria cruise. Even with two ships in port, there were plenty of cabs and we were at the airport 20 minutes after we retrieved our luggage.
