Formal dress for men on Celebrity

We are from the UK and so far have cruised on cruiselines PandO, Cunard, Fred Olsen where most men wear tuxedos on Formal nights. Our next cruise is on Celebrity Mercury to Alaska and I was wondering if that is the same on this ship.

I think you'll find a fair number in tuxes...those that aren't will be in dark suits for formal night. Of course, there will always be a few who don't understand, or choose NOT to dress formally----it happens on every line!

We've found formal night on Celebrity to be just that and didn't see anybody who hadn't made the effort. Lots of men in DJs (we're from UK too!) and ladies in long/pretty frocks. Hope you love Celebrity as much as we do. :)

You will see that most men will wear either a tuxedo or a dark suit.

On our last Celebrity cruise (October, Panama canal) a scan of the formal night table pictures showed probably a third in DJs, almost all the rest in suits, mainly dark, and just a handful lacking jacket, tie or both.

On our X cruises, I'd guess 25-30% tux, 65% dark suits and the rest sport coats.
