Does anyone know if anything is open on a Sunday, shops, cafes etc

As per the Tallinn tourism website:

http://www.tourism.tallinn.ee/fpage/goodtime/shopping

they make this clear and important point:

"Great news for those itching to spend: Tallinn is a consumer-friendly city! Most shops in the Old Town and department stores throughout the city are open seven days a week, and major credit cards are widely accepted."

We loved Tallinn during our Saturday visit in early August. It was a very pleasant surprise. There was a local festival and town parade going on, etc. Lots of great history, charm, shopping, architecture, friendly people, etc. Below are some picture highlights from our enjoyable visit. On Sunday morning, some of the key churches will not be open for tourist visitors.

Their website also noted:

"The best places to find quality fashion, shoes, perfume and the like are the elegant boutiques along Old Town’s Viru and Müürivahe streets, and the large, full-service department stores and malls that have recently been appearing all over Tallinn. A required stop on any shopping tour of Tallinn is the outdoor knit market on Müürivahe street, where craftswomen sell their knitted products in the shadow of the town wall. Even more intriguing for the adventurous shopper is the Katariina Passage. Here in medieval-style workshops run by the Katariina Guild’s artists, onlookers watch as glasswork, ceramics, leather goods, quilts and other items are created right before their eyes."

THANKS! Enjoy! Terry in Ohio
