aussiecruzer Posted February 16, 2009 #2 Share Posted February 16, 2009 From Barcelona airport to port you should be able to take a taxi. Cost approx 35 euros + some cost for baggage - depends on number of bags. We did a private group tour with De Castro tours in Egypt - overnight for 10 of us from the CC roll call. It was absolutely wonderful. The details are in my ports of call review - link in my signature below. Hope you enjoy your trip as much as we did!:)
CruisinEurope Posted February 16, 2009 #3 Share Posted February 16, 2009 Just off the Jade - did both Barcelona (port) and Egypt. Review is in my signature. For advice on Egypt - need to know more about you and what you're looking for... w/kids or not, etc.
SuzyLovesNCL Posted February 16, 2009 #4 Share Posted February 16, 2009 HI B&K, We have a very active roll call going for the 4/10 cruise - come join us! http://boards.cruisecritic.com/showthread.php?t=764395 There are two different overnight Cairo tours being organized by CC members, one with DeCastro and one with Nile tours. Both come highly recommended. Tours in other cities are being organized as well. 52 days and counting ... yippee!!!
Rare Clay Clayton Posted February 16, 2009 #5 Share Posted February 16, 2009 B+K We did Jade last April and were very happy with a day trip using Nile Blue....found them on the Ports of Call board and then got a small group together - six of us - from our CC Roll Call group. Others on our ship were very pleased with DeCastro. I highly recommend reading the posts on the Eastern Med ports board and then deciding if you want an overnight or just a very long day trip. The day trip worked great for us. Have a wonderful cruise! Clay
lambs2 Posted February 16, 2009 #6 Share Posted February 16, 2009 We just got off the NCL Jade last week. Did a private 2 day overnight tour with Temo Tours. EXCELENT! Our guides were Ala Din and (Mohammed) Abdoulsaid. Both spoke excellent English and were so knowlegeable and helpful to our group of 10! No matter what tour you take, DO EXPECT to see the worst driving conditions you have EVER experienced!
