President's Week and San Juan

Hi Everyone!

I am considering taking a cruise that leaves out of San Juan possibly during president's week in 2010. I know this week usually has a lot of kids. However as this ship leaves out of San Juan are there as many kids on board as ships that leave out of NJ & FLA

I do like kids and we will be celebrating DS 21st B-day. How ever I have heard of nightmare stories during presidents week.

From other comments I've read on this board over the past few months - not from personal experience - cruises departing from San Juan during school holidays generally have a larger number of Puerto Rican families aboard.

 

Should be a good group with which to celebrate such an important birthday!!

I have sailed out of SJ 5 times and the ships are loaded with kids from mid feb to the end of April. i have not seen extra Spanish speaking people because it leaves from SJ over FL.

If you school age kids want fewer kids look for an 11 day cruise that leaves on a Monday and sails during a time when there are not normally school breaks. I'd expect fewer kids as they'd miss 2 weeks of school.

No, your cruise is the week before. President's Day is the 3rd Monday in February and encompasses that week.

Phew... thanks :). Thought we'd just made a big blunder..... love kids but we're leaving our 2 at home for this trip so don't really want hundreds of others!!
