Radiance class D1 Aft cabins 9th or 10th deck?

Recommended Posts

Are the 10th deck D1 aft cabins in any way nicer than the 9th deck cabins? The only negative I have heard about the 10th deck is noise from the windjammer above. Is the view from the 10th deck better, or is the balcony bigger? Just trying to decide between deck 9 and 10 D1 aft for our next sailing on Serenade. Thanks!!

Aft Cabins on Radiance of the Seas. You really don't hear that much noise from the Windjammer...........however you may hear some chairs being moved around later in the evenings when they are cleaning.

We had 1602 last March on the Serenade. We loved it so much that we are booked in 1104 for a B2B in Jan 2010. There may be a little noise, a chair being pulled across the floor, or dishes being stacked but nothing that really bothered us or kept us awake. I do hope you realize that the aft cabins are haunted and their existance should be kept a secret!!:D

We had 1104 on the Jewel and loved it.

We had two regular chairs and two lounge chairs and had room for plenty more. We did look down for the windjammer to see how much of the balcony was “exposed” from above and found that most of it was private.

Never had any problem with windjammer noise except once. During the Canal crossing, the commentary was not piped in to the cabins so we were listening to the commentary from the loud speakers coming from the windjammer. There were two ladies talking about what they were wearing that evening so we could not hear the Canal explanations. We politely "leaned up by the rail" and asked the ladies to speak quietly as we were trying to hear the commentary, they apologized and all was well.

The balcony size was exceptional, the hallway nice and quiet and the long walk to and from the cabin helped to keep the pounds away.

Enjoy

M

We love the aft cabins on the Radiance class ships. We were in #8172 on the Jewel and #1104 on the Radiance coming up.

If the aft isn't available the hump cabins are a nice alternative. We were in #9078 on the Serenade and the balcony was just as large as the aft.

Just a word of warning...............there are no stairs or elevators in the aft section of the ship. The stairway that you see on the deck plans is for crew only and off limits to pax. If they find you there.............they will put you to work!!:p

It is a long walk from the Centrum to the aft cabins...........so when you leave your cabin...............don't forget anything.:D
