Fishing Off of RCI Ships

Just fish from your balcony, dont worry about fee's and regulations. When you haul in the "big one" from 8 or 9 decks up, just gut it right there so no one knows. Call room service and order lots of ice to pack it. If your the catch and release kinna guy, im sure the fish wouldnt mind being thrown back into the ocean from a 50-100 ft.in the air.(depending what deck your stateroom is on) Go ahead its your vacation.

Back in 89 the guy boarding in front of us was caught trying to smuggle a 600 lb. Grouper onto the ship in his carry on so he could win the "Biggest Fish" pool. It would not have done him any good though because a guy in an aft cabin hooked a Humpback. (We ended up in Aruba instead of Jamaica before they could get the line cut). He did manage to smuggle 300 croakers in his underwear and ended up winning the "Most Fish Caught" pot.

By the way, I would have blown the whistle on this cheater but you don't mess with a guy that can lug a 600 lb grouper around.

By the way the bait to use for whale fishing is a half of ton of plankton and a bunch of real tiny hooks. You don't have to hook each one though. Force the plankton to watch the movie Gigli and they will impale themselves.

Too funny! Of course, if you don't want to be seen renting Gigli, you can put that duct tape to good use. Pour plankton over some duct tape strips, then lower in water. Of course,you will probably use all your duct tape and will therefore be out of luck for all those other times you need it during your cruise.

So many people want to do it they now charge a $40 surcharge for it. Last time I went tubing off the big boat I ending out get a hook in my rump. After he reeled me into his balcony cabin, all he could say was that’s the biggest I have ever caught in my life. **** PRICE REDUCTION ****

My TA just called, she says there has been a Price reduction on the International Fishing Licence mentioned earlier. Princess will give you a room credit of $100 if you've already paid in full.

Also new updates...

** Roller Blading Track will be closed when fishing in progress. Apparently they use it to store and keep any Skates that are reeled in.

** The band will NOT be playing unless it's NOT a "Fishing at Sea Day". Apparently there is not enough Bass otherwise. They sound awful without Bass - apparently.

** If you get EEL - it's not to be confused with you getting the Norwalk virus. Some people do get EEL and then go to the Ships Doctor.

** And there is now a policy protecting the Piranah. You can now NOT THROW THEM OVERBOARD if you catch one. These sun bed hoggers are not good swimmers - just report them to the Deck attendants - LOL

This fishing must be "reel" popular - I have seen lots of people "chumming" over the sides yelling something like "woah - fish - whoa - whoops" or something like that. Also, Dowser307, I do think your on to somthing there, with the deckchair saving idea. I think I will look for an inflatible piranha before my cruise. I'm sure they're available (somewhere)!I was going to pick up an inflatable doll (and throw cover) to use to save a chair but this would command more room AROUND the chair as well.

1 to scale
2 to comment about techinque
5 to say how they did it last trip
1 to save a place for his wife and kids to watch
2 to say you should have checked the fish scaleing post first before trying it.
4 to sneak in booze to help with the scaleing
2 teenagers to run off with the scales to stick them on the door handles in the hall.
15 to comment about how much like a ranch steak the scales look.
and someone to begin a thread on "Live scaleing from the ship".

also included would be...
1 ship's photographer to take pictures for all that want to hold the fish
2 bar tenders to bring foo foo drinks for the growing crowd.
