I don't even bother with fishing from the 10th deck. I just visit our local FISH R US chain store and order what I need. The Marlin and Swordfish are there, waiting at the dock in Cozumel for the photo shoot with me. Then, I have the photos made into postcards, which I mail from the ship, and which arrive two years after my catch has been entered into the Guiness Book of World Records. I just love fiberglass big-game fish....don't you?
" I understand that I need a big game fishing license to fish off of the bow of the Explorer (09/05/04) but am curious about how much RCI charges for an all day fishing permit and does RCI offer taxidermy on board if I catch a big sail fish?"

ATTENTION ALL POSTERS
The above is a post that I have made on NCL and Carnival from recent cruises. I have also asked various members of the cruise line crews and only get a blank stare and kinda glazed eyes.
I still never get an answer! Any Ideas?

P.S. - tnc (tongue in cheek)
I took the liberty of putting the quote above so that people could chime in on the subjet :p

I was really excited about the change announced last week during the quarterly webcast. It appears that license charge will be included for all cabins E2 and above. (E3 was not included because of the obstruction).

It was also announced that the fees for cleaning and storage will be reduced.

I can's wait for my next cruise!!

Better than the telephone generator, all people with balcony cabins on the port side should bring long extension cords with one prong cut off (the small one).

People on the starboard sides should bring long extension cords with the large prong cut off. At the scheduled fishing time each group should drop the end of their extension cords in the water and plug it into the extension cord/power strip that everyone brings along. This will create two very large electrical "poles" one on each side of the ship which should just about fry any fish that come near.

Research should be undertaken if it might be better to use the 220 volt outlet that is in the cabins that no one seems to have a use for. I will gladly provide my research services, (for a nominal fee) and report back on this site.

If you think you would like to support this project, please send me $5.00 to defray the expenses I will incur, (extension cords, voltmeters, ammeters, beer, cost of the cruise, beer, etc)

Well, damn. No more fishing from the ship. RCCL has done away with ranch steak now, so there will no longer be any good bait available. (No more trap/skeet, either, since the ranch steak was what they used instead of clay pigeons.) Rats.

Out of curiosity - there are no deeps-sea excursions available but is their any opportunities to fish - other than off the ship itself?

Was that a serious post? If so, yes. Absolutely. You can fish. You can fish from shore, or you can arrange for your own party boat (maybe) or charter (definitely). I'd hate to have to pay for a charter, though. Wow. As expensive as everything ELSE is in Hawaii, deep sea fishing charters would probably put me in the poorhouse. If you're really interested, you might try one of these:
