jeana Posted February 23, 2009 #31 Share Posted February 23, 2009 Roast leg of lamb, cheesecake, and that great apricot tart they make in the trattorias! Oh, and the spicy hot pepper shrimp they make fresh with pasta in the buffet is not so bad either! And also the oil and garlic pasta they whip up with whole roasted cloves of garlic.... oh my! Carolyn R Posted February 23, 2009 #35 Share Posted February 23, 2009 I have my favorite Princess items that always seem to be consistently excellent, twiced baked goat cheese souffle, escargot, eggplant parm and rack of lamb are my favorites. HOWEVER, I noticed on my most recent cruise that "turkey with all the trimmings" is an unappetizing turkey roll and your mother would be ashamed of the homestyle meatloaf. Pirkko Posted February 24, 2009 #39 Share Posted February 24, 2009 The scones with cream and jam at Afternoon Tea. And lots of the fresh baked rolls.
rdsqrl Posted February 24, 2009 #40 Share Posted February 24, 2009 Another vote for the Eggplant Parmesan. The veal pasta dish. And a cheeseburger at the poolside grill -- it's not like there aren't (better) burgers on land, but they just taste so much better sitting on the open deck at sea! mariakitty Posted February 25, 2009 #45 Share Posted February 25, 2009 Lobster, Love Boat Dream, and afternoon tea are my favorites. :) I love beef wellington, though I've never had it on a Princess cruise because it's usually on the same menu as lobster! chrtran Posted February 25, 2009 #46 Share Posted February 25, 2009 Is the escargos dish available for ordering during French night only? Also the "cold soup" ... like pina colada soup, is it similar to the drink? Thanks... haven't been on Princess for 7 years ... I still remember the escargo and the souffles! If I remember correctly, they were only for French nights?
Adventures ahead Posted February 25, 2009 #47 Share Posted February 25, 2009 Not only is it like the drink, they serve it in a pina colada glass! We thought the waiter was joking, but it's for real. jff50 Posted February 25, 2009 #50 Share Posted February 25, 2009 Thanks... haven't been on Princess for 7 years ... I still remember the escargo and the souffles! If I remember correctly, they were only for French nights? They have different souffles several nights. I'm pretty sure that has been the case for many years.
