kkbay Posted February 23, 2009 #1 Share Posted February 23, 2009 We have friends who just returned from a Panama Canal cruise. They entered from the Caribbean, went to Gatun Lake and turned around to re-enter the Caribbean. They claim that they did not go through the locks to re-enter the Caribbean. Is this possible? We thought all movement in and out of the canal was through the locks. Please respond if you know. When we did the Panama Canal, we did a full transit, so we really don't know if this is possible. Thanks!
2112 Posted February 23, 2009 #2 Share Posted February 23, 2009 No, that is not possible. Maybe they did an excursion and were off the ship while the ship exited through the locks and they didn't realize it. But, unless someone picked up the ship and carried it, or unless they were on a magical flying ship, the ship had to exit through the locks. If anyone hears about this ship, let me know asap! Sounds like the best way to travel in the air ;-). cheers, Lemur

eh2zed Posted February 23, 2009 #5 Share Posted February 23, 2009 Certainly would be cheaper for the cruise line. "Beam me up Scotty"
