Red Hat Cruise Cat Posted February 27, 2009 #1 Share Posted February 27, 2009 What is the cheapest way to get from the airport to the pier? We're doing the 2 night coastal so will only have one carry-on, no other luggage.
Urban trekker Posted February 27, 2009 #2 Share Posted February 27, 2009 Public transit would be the cheapest - it's $3.75 per person on weekdays and $2.50 on weekends and holidays - the 98B bus is a fast bus from nearby Richmond to downtown in about 35 minutes and terminates one block from Canada Place where Princess will likely sail from. This service runs about every 5- 7 minutes After Nov of this year our new rapid transit line from the Airport to downtown will be up and running. Here's the link to bus info: http://www.translink.bc.ca/ Hope this helps Cheers Dennis
Putterdude Posted February 27, 2009 #3 Share Posted February 27, 2009 Ut, wouldn't they have to catch a 424 from the Airport then transfer to the 098? Haven't heard from you since the weekend....that must have been some hike you went on!
Urban trekker Posted February 27, 2009 #4 Share Posted February 27, 2009 Yes I am alive and kicking and yes you have to take the #424 bus - that is why I said the 98B from nearby Richmond. Guess I will have to hit the pub tonight to catch the Canucks as it is PPV - wonder if they will be making any major trades in the next week. Haven't been posting a lot as there hasn't been a lot of new activity on the local boards. Have a good weekend Cheers Dennis

Guess I will have listen to it on my laptop as I refuse to pay for it on the tube. I am guessing no trades unless someone wants to really unload some salary...but kind of wonder if this defenseman they picked up from Philly might be some dry powder for a trade. To the Red Hat Cruise Cat, you may also want to consider the Airporter shuttle, here is link for it and a cab will run you about $35. http://www.yvrairporter.com/
Red Hat Cruise Cat Posted August 1, 2009 Author #6 Share Posted August 1, 2009 Is the new train service operating? Also, where at the airport can I exchange US$ for Canadian$. Only need enough for the bus (or train if operating) from YVR to Canada Place.
scottbee Posted August 1, 2009 #7 Share Posted August 1, 2009 Is the new train service operating? Also, where at the airport can I exchange US$ for Canadian$. Only need enough for the bus (or train if operating) from YVR to Canada Place. New subway will be operating by Labour Day. (Rumor has it the service starts Aug 22). You can use your credit card to purchase transit tickets at the ticket machines. Cost is $3.75 Mon-Fri, or $2.50 evenings and weekends.
