century sky suite 1204

we are going on century for the first time and we have booked sky suite 1204. HAS ANY BODY have any expierience in this area. have we made a good choice? we are going on the norway artic circle cruise july 8th. this is a drastic change in itinerary's for us hopefully for the better. new cruiseline for us new itinerary If anybody can share any kind of experience either sky suite or norway itinerary would be greatly appreciated.

My husband and I have been in Cabin 1204 on the century. We absolutely loved it!. In fact our first cruise was on the Galaxy in Cabin 1204 and when we were able to get the same cabin number on the Century, we were ecstatic. The verandah is huge. We were on the Century two years ago on the 12-night Baltic cruise. It is in a very nice location - away from the elevators a little bit, but close enough. The casual buffet is only one level down so very easy to take the stairs that come out right at the entrance to the buffet area and also out to the pool. Almost every port we were looking at the city we were visiting and many days sat on our verandah at the end of a day of sightseeing with some suishi, wine, and looking at the sights. The cabin is a nice size and lots of storage space. We hope you enjoy the century as much as we did! Have a great time!

If you are concerned about the area, it is about the best place you can be on the ship. Convienent to pool area, buffet area and a short walk to the back and right down to the main restaurant...

We'll be doing the Baltic on Century in May and are in a SS on deck 10. We chose this mainly because it was the only mid ship cabin left and we were afraid of the vibration at the aft. The other reason for our choice was thinking the fully covered balcony might come in handy since we had heard the weather could be quite cold and rainy. Are we off base there?

I may be wrong but I don't think those balconies are fully covered, only about 1/3 covered...

Thanks everyone for your replies. I understand a butler is assigned to the sky suites. If this is true this will be a first for us. As I said this will be our first celebrity cruise. we have cruised holland america many times. they do not have butlers in there suites. hopefully we will enjoy celebrity as much as holland america.

We were next door in 1206 last year for the century trip round to the Arctic - its a fantastic location, you can stay on your balcony but if you think you are going to miss something that is on the otherside you just pop out the suite a few paces across out onto the upper pool deck and - well if you are me another photo is taken

Do not worry whether the balcony is covered or not (its about 30% covered) - its irrelevant on that trip and no - you do not get people looking down from above

Your butler will do whatever you want - look on the website for all the details but he will bring you afternoon tea, shine shoes, arrange anything you need. You can also have lunch or dinner from the dining room menu served in your suite. On our trip the weather was remarkably warm so we had a lovely lunch on the balcony overlooking fjord at Tromso served beautifully

Enjoy your cruise and your butler. In the event you are unaware, you will have both a Butler and a Room Steward who each should be tipped. This should be on your shipboard account but many do not know this.

Hey everybody thanks for all the great info. Iwas wondering does any one know if celebrity offers a wine card. Holland america offers one 20 glasses of wine for $77.00 also is the laundry price's reasonable and do they have laundromat service available

There are no laundromats, but the laundry charges seem pretty reasonable. You can also have pressing-only for 1/2 price. Don't know about the wine card.

Part of the verandah is covered and part is out in the open. That is the part that is a gem as you can enjoy and be in the sun when you want, but still enjoy the fresh air and still be covered. The Baltic weather we experienced two years ago was actually quite nice. The place the amazed us the most was Russia - 90+ degrees in Moscow in August! Who would have thought it would be that warm in Russia. It was the warmest day we had. The rest of the trip we had mostly sunshine and 60 - 70 degree weather. In going through our intinerary - it was cloudy in Amsterdam the day we left and in Copenhagen. Sunny in Stockholm and Helsinki, as it was in Moscow and St. Petersburgh. Lithuania we had sun; however, in Talinn, Estonia it did rain quite a bit. Fortunately we were in Old Town having a bear under one of the very large umbrellas they have along the street covering the tables and watched all the shore excursions walking by in the rain :D But actually we had very nice weather even though all reports said it would be rainy. We learned on that trip to layer - short sleeved shirt, light cotton sweater, and rain jacket. We ended up carrying the jacket most of the time and didn't wear the sweater most days. In Stockholm we did go to the Ice Bar so were glad for a little warmer clothing.
