Balmoral nearly got my pirates off Somalia!

I gather it was a false alarm. However, it is not the first cruise ship to be threatened by pirates. The ship is still on schedule (thank goodness).

I am afraid the cases of piracy in the proximity of the Horn of Africa are still prevelant despite the presence of the multi-national naval fleet. Luckily for cruisers cargo ships and oil tankers are much easier to board.

On the positive side the death rate amongst pirates is very high. I suppose if you are as poor as much of the population in that part of the world it is worth the risk.

Is back on the Google map, after all the excitement over the alleged pirate attack.

I,m glad I,m not on P&O Aurora ,broken down on her world cruise and stuck in New Zealand ,although a lovely place to be broken down in ,I hear almost riots on board over compensation offered for missed ports etc.
