gracie65 Posted March 18, 2009 #2 Share Posted March 18, 2009 How sad, my heart goes out to The Small Family. Hopefully this will help the airport to be better equipped in the event it happens again.
Sunny AZ Girl Posted March 19, 2009 #3 Share Posted March 19, 2009 As Mr. Small stated, San Juan is not a third world country. It is legally part of the US. I cannot imagine ANY international airport would not have an AED in this day and time. Long flights are notorious for causing blood clots in the legs which can lead to a heart attack or stroke. I work in an ER where we have seen this many times. An AED can be a lifesaver in many instances and not having fast and efficient paramedic service is surprising. I am not a believer in frivolous lawsuits by any means, but if bringing legal action would save even one life I hope th Small family pursues it. My condolences to the family.
