Retractable Roof Pools - Ever Open?

Wondering about Mercury's Palm Spring Pool that has the retractable roof. In warm weather do they open the roof to give more sunning space or do they keep these pools closed even in warm / hot weather. :)

I don't remember it being open on a Hawaiian Cruise on the Mercury in 2007, but then we were only there in the morning around 8:30 to 9:30 in the morning.

You know, now that you mention it, I've never seen the magrodome open on Galaxy or Mercury. Weird! :confused: Maybe it's too much of a hassle to open it?

 

Now I'm dying to know if anyone HAS ever seen it open, LOL!

Maybe over the years it's been painted shut and they can't open it. :D

 

I am hoping though that it can be opened for our Western Caribbean cruise next year. Hope someone can solve this mystery!

About 5 years ago we took the Mercury down to Acapulco from San Diego. It was open quite often. In fact they had a wonderful outdoor BBQ and sail away under the open sky as we left Acapulco.

it open:D I love that area on the ship. Find a cushioned lounger,

the bar is right there, a good book to read, ahhhhhhhhhh........

When we first cruised on Galaxy in summer 2006, there was a story that the pool roof was stuck almost-but-not-quite shut; certainly we never saw it open.

 

However, the following year we cruised on her again, and on that occasion the roof was in constant movement: the weather was very hot and the roof was opened every day & shut every night.
