gina4655 Posted March 22, 2009 #1 Share Posted March 22, 2009 You can tell I am new at this by asking> What is a Hump Cabin  and what are the benefits?? Which are the BEST Cabins to try to get? Also, Is it better to get the lowest floor on the ship or try to get as high up as possible ( thinking about sea sickness, nausea etc ) Thanks!! Aquahound Posted March 22, 2009 #2 Share Posted March 22, 2009 Hump cabins refer to Royal Caribbean ships. If you look at the deck plans of Freedom, Voyager, or Radiance Class ships, you will see a bulge about 3/4 the way back. The balcony rooms on that bulge are referred to as hump cabins. The benefit is a better view since you stick out from the side of the ship. For motion sickness issues, you want to book on the lowest deck possible and as mid-ship as possible. marcyjane Posted March 22, 2009 #3 Share Posted March 22, 2009 These cabins are nice and usually sell out fast. I've had them twice on the Mariner of the Sea. They are very close to the elevators and no noise problems. The very center hump cabin is the best. Had one last year on Mariner and my son and DIL had the next one to us. Go for it you like it. cruiserbryce Posted March 22, 2009 #4 Share Posted March 22, 2009 many of the RC ships are designed with a hump around the midship area. These locations often provide larger balconies and better views since you are further out than most other balconies aboard
