how to access translink from ballantyne pier in Vancouver

Hi, can someone tell me if there is a translink stop near ballantyne pier? If so, is there any store in the area that you can walk to in order to purchase a day pass? :D

You have to exit Ballantyne and go up and over the railway tracks (a lot of steps w/ luggage). Also, it's a not great part of town to be standing around catching a bus. For $10 you can grab a taxi to downtown, or to Main Street Station (aka Pacific Station /Amtrak) and grab Skytrain from there. Where were you trying to end up?

Agreed...Balantyne is in an industrial part of Downtown and has no real public transportation nearby. There are plenty of cabs that could take you to bus or skytrain, but I certainly wouldn't recommend walking out to the road to wait for a bus. Not a pleasant area of our beautiful city!

We left from Ballentine last September, my husband was being dropped off so I inquired with the Port Authority how he could enter from the street as a pedestrian. Was advised that no noone should be walking the Port area as anyone on foot is questioned and can be detained. Ballentine is in a heavy cargo area and there is very strict security and not advised that any one enters on foot. Take a taxi up to Hastings Street but go all the way down town if you can, (not a great area that part of Hastings) depends on your destination.

Cheers

Pedestrians can exit the Ballantyne area using the staircase and cross the bridge as I indicated on my map. I saw a number of people doing it when I got off a 3 day cruise in Sept. My wife and I were debating it if was faster than waiting for a cab (long cab line up).
