Dorset Cruiser Posted March 31, 2009 #1 Share Posted March 31, 2009 We are sailing Southampton to Dubai on Dawn Princess as part of her 2009 world cruise. We are led to believe that the ship is sailing under the auspices of P&O Australia. Is this correct? If it is, does this mean that our Platinum Princess status will not count on this cruise? We have already found out that Anytime Dining is not being offered on this cruise and it is traditional only.

Its all under Carnival Australia which operates/manages P&O, Princess, HAL and Cunard down here. They do call themselves Princess Australia and it is kept separate from P&O Australia. We sailed on Dawn Princess last October for the 28 day Around Austrailia Cruise and the Captains Circle benefits were all alive and well. It would pay to get your TA to check , just to make sure. If you are Platinum now will you move to Elite since you are doing such a long sector, or will that only kick in on completion of your cruise? The Dining Room is traditional only, but the buffet was open and they had a specialist dining option up there as well. We tried the buffet one night and found it to be excellent, especially if you go after the rush times .The staff looked after us almost like the dining room. We are only doing 26 days and have quite a way to go to get to Elite - probably not in our cruising lifetime as we tend to pick and choose cruises by itinerary rather than sticking with Princess all the time.
