Email - Beat The Blues Promo

This morning I noticed that Celebrity was doing a new open cabin promotion to stimulate bookings during this downturn in the economy. It does look interesting.

Celebrity is going to set aside a certain number of cabins on all Alaska sailings this season. There will be cabins from almost all categories and they will be available on a first come first served basis on the day of sailing. The pricing for all of these cabins will be the same and will be whatever the inside cabin rate is for that particular voyage. Apparently this promo is only for new bookings only.

I think this promo is a great idea but I do have a couple of questions. Won't demand for these bargain basement cabins cause the terminal to look like an after Thanksgiving sale with all the people lined up? Also, how can they issue docs and get these last minute passengers aboard?

;)

And won't some Elite members get their noses out of joint, just elbowing through the hoi-polloi to embark

... then finding the white-socks-with sandals-dude and his poofy-haired wife wearing a Carnival T-shirt, that just wouldn't let them cut in line, on the next door suite's verandah

... noisily munching on the plate-loads they squirreled out of the buffet and slurping their Bubba Keg of boxed wine that they smuggled on board

... and then having the butler inform said Elite members that these same neighbours busted them for seeing them sneak a smoke as they furiously waved hello

... as well as having a $ fine for the transgression added to their onboard account

... for which they couldn't even remove the offending butler's tip!

;);)
