pre cruise Barcelona airport pick up and tour?

Has anyone ever booked a pre cruise celebrity tour of Barcelona either with or without an airport pick up. It seems on the boards that lots of folks do one after the cruise. We will have several hours before sailing the day we arrive in Barcelona to sail on summit.

It sort of depends on what time your flight arrives.... However check in begins rather early in BCN so what you can do is drop off luggage and walk back to the Las Ramblas (that is barring you can walk well) at the top of Las Ramblas you will find the underground and the busses as well at the Citys Tourist info.

Alot of the city's attractions are in walking distance but things like the Sagrada and the Parc Guell need to be done by public transport.

Over and above that you need to expect long lines at many of the attractions in the summer months

I too would say you can do it on your own. Either leaving the bags at the Airport in left luggage and travelling into the City on the Airport Bus. Go back and collect later and transfer by taxi probably.

Or as suggested leave the bags at Ship and then do the tour using the jump on off tour bus. Plenty to see on foot if you have the energy.

Good luck.

Thank you both for answering we are sailing on Sept 7th. We just don't have the extra time to go early and have extra time in Barcelona.. After reading up on Barcelona we would love to see some of it even for a few hours. We are mid fifties we are practicing our walking now in order to shake a few pounds ha ha and be in better walking shape. We love the hop on hop off buses we have used those in Paris,London and New York I just thought if Celebrity offered a pre cruise trip and they picked us up at the airport it would be easier. Thanks again.:)

Last year, we flew into Barcelona a day early just to spend time resting at the hotel with family.

On the day of the cruise, we decided instead of taking a taxi directly to the port to arrange a tour to see the highlights of the city and then be dropped off at the port.

We decided to go with Jose at Pepito Tours (http://www.pepitotours.com) and was picked up at our hotel. The tour lasted around four hours and arrived at the ship in plenty of time. In that time, we saw most of the highlights of Barcelona (Park Guell, Sagrada Familla, Olympic Stadium, etc) in a way that we did not feel rushed.

Overall, we loved the time spent with Jose and would arrange another tour with him the next time we are in Barcelona.

I hope that you and your family have a great trip.

Some people get the tour included for the entire group from their TA--because the flights arrive too early for boarding & it works out perfectly..Our friends were suprised when they got a city tour to Sagarada Familia & the most popular sites & then boarded ..

We used Jose on a land tour last year. We did a 1/2 day tour, and it was outstanding, Having him pick you up at the airport and then tour would really maximize your time.
