Snorkeling Rentals in St. John?

Can you rent snorkeling gear at Trunk Bay? Anyone know the price for this? Is it worth it, or should we just buy some from Wal-Mart and take it with us?

There is snorkeling equipment available for rental at Trunk Bay but I would encourage you to bring your own. In addition to the rental fee there is a $25.00-$50.00 deposit per item. We rented two pair of flippers and one safety belt and our total was approximately $155. About $100.00 was returned to us when the equipment was handed in.

We paid $10 pp and gave them a credit card for a deposit, same price as the ship. They have lockers, showers, a very nice and clean beach.

how long did it take "door to door" from the ship to Trunk Bay beach?

Is the beach and the snorkling that much nicer than Coki, or Magans, or Saphire Beach?

The trip to St. John is a long day, probably 2 hours. The trip is very beautiful. From the ship, taxi to Red Hook, only 15 min., but they do not leave until every seat is full. The ferry to St.John, 1/2 hour, and another 15 min. to Trunk Bay, remember it is the Caribbean and no one (except the tourists) is in a hurry. Of the 3 beaches you mentioned, I like Coki the best for snorkeling, all are beautiful.
