Have fun Melody and Sue!! I loved that cruise and can still feel the ship going thru the canal - we were on the Radiance, inaugural sailing - and after going thru at the first port, we saw some marks where it shimmied thru the canal cuz it was so wide... I was on our balcony, 10th deck but I went out and enjoyed it better at pool deck. carol

I'll be very careful!!!! I guess that rules out any wild parties on the pool deck :( Or going crazy in the Cova Cafe? Of course that ALL goes out the window when the bring out the almond crossaunts (sp)

No guarentees that the waffle bar will be safe though! hehe:cool:;)

Sue darn I just recalled, we have a luncheon here on the 3rd thru our RV club, darn it. We'd barely make it down there. Well next time. :(

How about Feb 1st?

There are great deals on both the Mariner and Radiance now. The sad part is the rates are low because the ships are not selling well. I'm not sure why........is it because of the swine flu scare in Mexico? or that cruisers don't want to go to the Mexican ports?

We've been to Mexico more than once but, for us, that's OK as we love the cruise experience and just being on a ship. :)

Sue for us, we aren't able to do any cruises until 2011. Way this economy is going I hope we are able to cruise more in the future. My retirement has really hurt us.

I know what you mean. Hopefully the Federal Reserve Chair, Ben Bernacke, is right when he says this recession is almost over.

It will not affect our Calif Cruise, as I am making small payments and will clear that off with no problem, its trying to plan for longer cruises. My Investments took a little hit but don't want to draw from the Money Market. My broker because of the economy has put most of it into the set up Money Market to avoid further loss, so 20 % is invested, plus my Ira when I retired. Its beginning to go up again now which is a good sign.

Hi Carol

I just thought of something! I will be on the Infinity a month after you in June of 2010, so YOU need to keep it in perfect shape, hehe!!!!

Hi All. This is our first cruise from Seattle. But the being able to fly there on Southwest for $400 for both of us is making me think we'll go again in the future. We were actually planning a road trip to Seattle for 2 weeks, and then saw a cruise for the same price. :D

Worst flight - I couldn't figure why so many people paid $100 or more for a "day room" in Tahiti. So on our last day, we went sightseeing in HUMID Tahiti all day, and got on the plane at midnight. I felt so miserable on the 8 hours home - hard to describe, but definitely needing a shower.

My first cruise was on Crystal & we caught the Cruise in Tahiti back to Los Angeles via Hawaii & Ensenada. When we got off the plane at 6:30 am dressed in our warm clothes (it was December & raining in LA) I thought I was going to pass out. The customs terminal was so hot & humid I started peeling off layers while I was in line. It was really beautiful though.

Thanks. Now I really feel welcome..lol

Tahiti and I would not do so well together it sounds like.

I would not mind even doing a cruise up the west coast ... San Francisco and Seattle. Do they have those?

Maybe start in San Diego and stop in LA and up the coast. Would that not be cool to have an overnight in SF and Seattle both and then back to SD or LA? I would do that in a heartbeat. Maybe they don't do those because the casino would have to be closed while at port all that time.

Laura

The casino would not be able to open if the ship did not go to a foreign port.

I had a friend who always sailed Crystal...(in fact she drove me to the port on my first cruise). She was an heiress and a school teacher, very down to earth, but I can still remember her saying"well you know dear 20 mil doesn't go as far as it used to but cruising in style is well worth the money paid".

She also believed that in the end she spent less as they did not charge for booze LOL

Hey Corkey Carol I live in Antioch also. Been here since 1979. Lived in Concord before that.

My hubby and I went to Alaska this year for our 30th Anniversary on the Coral Princess. It was great and can't wait to cruise again. We left out of Vancouver and enjoyed that city so much for 2 days, want to go back there also.

I will wave over the fence tonight to you HI Carol. :D
