Inside Cabin Question

Recommended Posts

Thank you for the picture.

We're booked in an inside cabin on the Splendor. We're a family of 4

185 sq. feet. Our first time on a Carnival. We've been on the Disney Magic and we had lots of room in the cabin.

How much space will we have in an inside cabin? Is there a closet to hang clothes/store suitcases?

Thanks.

There are 3 closets. 2 that have hanging bars and one that can have shelves or hanging bars. You can store your suitcases under the bed. There is also 6 shelves in the bathroom and space on the counter for storage.

Find out the bed situation before you go; our last cruise for the 4 of us, we had two twin (pushed together) a sofa that converted to a bed and a bunk. This time we had two twins and two bunks and had absolutely no room when the bunks were down.

We are sailing on the Fascination in June, never been on Carnival ship. What are the bed configurations for the Quad cabin. Are there two upper beds(from the wall) or roll-a-way beds? and two lowers. Also if you have info on a triple room, our friends went last year and Carnival brought in a roll-a-way bed for their son and did not put it away each day so what is already a small space got even smaller.

I have done 4 in an inside cabin several times. While it is doable, you will find yourselves stepping on each other's toes a bit.

You can usually get 2 insides for just a bit more than one. It may be something to check into.

We had two-and-a-half in ours!

We 'took along' a teenage grand-dau, booked in our cabin

-one bunk lowered down out of the ceiling for her-

but with six other teenage grand-dau. cousins also on board

she never slept one night in her specially-lowered bunk!

She camped out with said girl-cousins in other cabins, as was convenient.

Nevertheles, said top bunk did see some usage

since we oldies got to baby-sit the youngest of the cousins

a six year old who crashed with us oldies around 10:30

and slept soundly every night until her mother came to retrieve her around 1:30 a.m.

It all worked out very well, despite periodic 'invasions' by various grand-daus

to raid the suitcase for items to be worn, shared,borrowed..

- you know how it is with teenage girls...

I've stayed in Inside cabins twice on fantasy class ships. The inside cabins are just as nicely appointed and have just as much room as the oceanviews, there is even a faux window (with nothing behind the curtain, of course).

If you can afford it though, the oceanviews are so much nicer to wake up to in the morning :) I would recommend the inside to someone who wants to party in the club/casino all night and then sleep all morning, because absolutely no light gets into that room unless you turn the light on.

Thank you for the info, we actually did think of getting two doubles, our boys are 12 and 16. Our travel agent told us that sometimes the double room rates go down and it might be cheaper to get two rooms, the quad rooms are harder to come by and don't get discounted. We would need our two rooms to be close together, Im sure we could request that!!!

Thanks for the pictures. The bathroom was exactly like that in the balcony rooms. I'm thinking of a B2B in an inside vs one week in a balcony. Any thoughts on that?

I'd stick with the same room on a B2B, but that's just me. Who wants to move all that stuff.

I wasn't clear. We've never done an inside cabin, but I'm thinking of us going that route and doing a B2B 14 day cruise. Just wondering if we'd be disappointed, since we've never done an inside cabin. We'd be in an inside for the b2b.

As far as space goes they are the same 185 SF. The only difference is that you don't have a balcony (or a window).

The other thing that you need to consider is how much time do you spend in the cabin and/or the balcony?

The time you spent on the balcony you would probably want to spend that time on one of the decks.

Actually there are a few inside cabins on certain classes that do have less closet room. They have two cabinets instead of three. These are the cabins that have a unique configuration, the one we had was across from a suite. It really didn't hinder us as there were only two in the room.

As for the four of you sharing a room it is doable but tight especialy with the boys being teens. Our two teens and a friend shared a quad last summer and it was tight for them.

One way to maximize space is to store your bags under the bed and for bathroom items bring an over the door hanger for items as the inside cabins can sometimes have smaller counter space.

Have fun!

Oh god, I want to ask, but this is going to get me in SO much trouble on here.....;)

I'm booked in a triple inside with my current roomie and my ex-roomie, two of my best friends in the whole wide world.

Current roomie, who has done an inside with three before, says we might be better off if we keep the beds together (is it a king? she thinks it's a king at that point) and all three slept in there, as opposed to having a bunk dropped, etc. This is on the Pride.

None of us are squeamish 'bout sharing, we're all like sisters. But can we honestly fit three grown women in a bed?

(OK, it IS a serious question, but bring on the comments from the peanut gallery, too....) :D

Three in a true king bed would probably be OK, however I'm not sure the beds when pushed together are as big as a regular king. Secondly I don't think that the person in the middle would be very comfortable as they would be on two edges of the bed. I remember the seam not being comfortable to be on, but that could vary by the actual beds?

We had 3 people in the PRIDE, and we were fine. We did leave the bed down most of the time, just put the ladder up so we didn't trip on it. But, with friends -3 in a bed is probably fine also, but you have to remember this is two pushed together so the one in the middle may have a lump.
