Whales-Juneau or Prince Rupert Excursion?

Mulling over either combo Mendenhall/Whale tour or one in Prince Rupert (both thru NCL)

 

Wondering if any advantage to either as to sightings, etc.

 

Was thinking of going with trying to see the whales in Prince Rupert, allowing for more time @ Mendenhall (which i assume we could find transport to on our own vs pricer ship excursion?) & ability to then work in tramway.

 

any suggestions most welcome:)

This is a FAR better option out of Juneau, where you see humpbacks 100% of the time.

 

Prince Rupert is at the outer fringe of the Vancouver Island northern resident pods. Humpbacks??? iffy.

thanks again, i noticed that the $100 refund for non-sightings is only referenced in Juneau:)
