yesterdaystime Posted April 19, 2009 #1 Share Posted April 19, 2009 1. If you bring back more than 1 bottle per person, approximately how much does customs charge? 2. On several previous cruises, I've noticed in the Capers events sponsored by "Cruise Critics". Is trere some sort of invitation/ID that is required in order to attend? Thanks in advance George Yesterdays Time
direfun2000 Posted April 19, 2009 #2 Share Posted April 19, 2009 I've never been charged. But, I also have never declared anything. Just "forgot" about it.
direfun2000 Posted April 19, 2009 #3 Share Posted April 19, 2009 Check the roll call section of this board to find your sailing. They will let you know where the meet & greet is. Happy sailing!

Thanks in advance George Yesterdays Time Customs and duties depend on where you go. You can bring a lot more back from the USVI than anywhere else, so if you go to St. Thomas you get up to 6 liters. From Mexico it is one liter. Check the Customs and Border patrol site for more info.
JessicaRN Posted April 19, 2009 #5 Share Posted April 19, 2009 We've brought back (and declared) more than 1L per person from non-USVI ports. The customs guy looked at our declaration, put it in the pile, and sent us on our way. Thought maybe we would get a bill in the mail, but never happened. *shrug* Maybe it's only if you're bringing back A LOT more than 1Lpp...?
