Well, hope ya had a great time! Which ports did you go to and what excursions, if any, did you do? Did you eat at the supper club? Well, enough questions to bombard you with for now! OH NOT, forgot one - do you have any pics that you can post? Ok, so now I will stop! We are sailing on the Valor on 5/17, just can't wait!

I am in the process of downloading my pictures (I have over 600 of them) I will try to post pictures once I figure out how. (My friend might be able to help with that)

We did not eat at the supper club. We were so happy with the dining room choices we felt we didn't need to. We did do the buffet a couple of the nights (Roatan being one since we were in port until after our early seating)

We did the Stingray City Tour while in Grand Cayman. It was so fun and the water was calm so that was even better. What amazing creatures stingrays are and the people who ran the excursions were great and made sure everyone held, kissed and took pictures before we left. The water there was amazing.

In Roatan we did the Tabyana Beach excursion through Carnival. We were going to do Fins and Flippers but changed our mind when we heard about the sea grass and sand fleas. They did offer a pool there but we wanted to put our feet in the Caribbean sea. Tabyana beach was amazing and our favorite day. Wish we were there longer. You will not be disappointed going there. You also get to see some of the island.

In Belize we stayed on the ship since we have been there before. But Goeffs Caye was great when we went the last time. Its a tiny island and you can swim, snorkel and they even had a vendor on the beach if you wanted to buy something to take home. We loved that day when we were in Belize the first time.

In Cozumel we took a taxi to Paradise Beach. It was a very nice beach and I enjoyed my time there but a little disappointed in the water there. Not a nice as in Roatan. I think the water at the pier where the ship was, was more blue then the beach. After that we came back to the pier area and shopped and ate and of course had our share of drinks. It was a fun day and night. HA!

The Valor is a beautiful ship and the service/food was great. we never had a problem getting a deck chair (only if you wanted one right by the pool which we did not) the slide never seemed to have a long line. You will not be disappointed in the ship.

Feel free to ask any other questions.

Where is your cabin?

I am from Trinidad and Tobago in the Caribbean (summit of the Americas host ‘09), I’ll be on the Valor in August on my Honeymoon.

I was planning to visit either Tabyana Beach or fins & flippers while in Roatan. What feedback did you get from other passagers on the fins and flippers location?

Did Moby Dick's stingray and snorkeling in Grand Cayman, Fins and Flippers in Roatan, Captain your own riverboat in Belize and Chakanaab in Cozumel.

Loved them all, our 2 girls did the dolphin swim in Cozumel. It is the most commercial of the tours and the least value but the only opportunity they'lll have to do something like that in quite a while.

Fins and Flippers was a highlight. The place is beautiful, the staff is great and the prices are very reasonable. $2 Salva Vida beers for instance. If you follow the snorkeling directions from the end of the pier, it is one of the most amazing snorkeling sites I've ever seen. I would go back in heartbeat.

I'd be happy to answer any questions as well.

I have a question about Laundry.

I don't really want to do my own laundry but I read there is a mid week special where you can send out your laundry for $10 or $15 - did they have this special and how much was it and how big is the bag you can fill?

I traveled with Morcruisin4Fun so I guess I can pitch in and answer a few questions too.

THe piano bar: We went for the sing along one night. I don't remember the singer's name but his voice was nice and he certainly played the piano well. Call me picky but....I just could not get past his singing COUNTY Roads instead of COUNTRY Roads! It made me a little nuts--not that I had far to go;) Silly, I know. I know they had a woman in there another night but we didn't get back there.

Fins 'n Flippers: We ended up not going there because we wanted more of a beach, not just snorkeling. There ended up being 12 of us and not everyone was interested in snorkeling so we chose Tabyana because of the reviews we'd read about the sea grass at F&F. All of the reviews were positive on F&F but Tabyana was a better fit for our group. It ended being our favorite stop.

I am soooo glad I finally joined this forum. The only problem I am having now is with so much good info I am a bit confused. I am undecided between Fins ‘n Flippers and Tabyana beach.

Anyone remembers how expensive are the drinks at Tabyana, do they have $2. beers also.

I'm sure there will be plenty of things to do but what kind of entertainment is offered on the Valor? This will be the 1st cruise for my husband and I so we have no idea what there is to do onboard the ship.

TIA

We went to F&F and loved it. The beach is smallish and the grass starts about 50 feet from shore, so if you are looking for a large area to splash around near shore then it may not be right for you, but if you want beautiful surroundings, fantastic snorkeling, good food and no crowds, then try F&F.

Yes, the beer at F&F was $2 for a local beer (Salva vida).

My Roatan pictures are here (this is the full set. I haven't done any culling yet).

Ellie... There is so much to do we didn't make it to everything. They have daily activities all day and live music everywhere at night. The lobby bar has a guy on piano and woman singing that were very good. They have a guy playing guitar and singing outside of the casino that we also enjoyed. The piano bar, disco and jazz club all have live music and there is also karaoke. In addition, there is a big production in the Ivanhoe theater each night. these range from Vegas-type shows to comedy to magic.

I'll be scanning the Capers either today or tomorrow and will post a link to them in me review.

It looks from the picture that the local dancers in Roatan are blocking the path to/from the ship.

That was taken before the gangways were down and anyone got off of the ship. once people started coming off the moved to the side.

We didn't have any problems, but we rarely stood still  one of the ladies from our roll call who was also at F&F did have bites on her legs and arms but they didn't bother her and they were gone in a couple of days. We took along some of the Deep Woods Off wipes just in case but never used them.

I second he vote for the fish and chips! The chips are just regular fries, not the traditional thick cut fries you would get in England, but the fish was great!

Just go up the stairs that are in the elevator lobby that is in the middle of Rosies or go up to deck 10 from one of the outside stairways. there is more seating up there and the Fish and Chips place.

We really enjoyed Moby Dick's tour, it was so good when we went two years ago, we decided to do it again. The boat holds about 40 people or so, you take a 10 minute bus ride along 7 mile beach to get to the boat, then take a 30 min or so boat ride, they give an entertaining and informative talk about the rays on the way out. The stingray sandbar tends to be a bit crowded at first, so we went right to the reef to snorkel, the snorkeling is nice, one of the highlights was one of the crew came out to feed his " pet " moray eel. It was very interactive.

When we went to the sandbar they had lots of squid to feed the stingrays, all the crew was in the water with us, teaching people how to hold them so you can get your kiss for good luck. On the return trip they'll drop you off at 7 mile beach or a local deck restaurant called Rackems or the pier.

I think it's $ 40 well spent and I'd go back with them in a heartbeat.
