05mak05 Posted April 26, 2009 #1 Share Posted April 26, 2009 We're staying at the Hampton Inn North at Times Square in Manhatten for 3 days prior to our cruise. I've lost the link on restaurant suggestions for Chinatown and also the Times Square area. One of the ladies in our group has never been to "Tavern on the Green" so we'll eat there one evening prior to the theatre. Other than that, we're interested in moderately priced restaurants with fairly fast service. There was a great link on Chinatown ... wish I could find it again! Thank for your help. Rare mking8288 Posted April 26, 2009 #2 Share Posted April 26, 2009 Here is a link on more info to Chinatown, and at the bottom, additional websites with various info, including shopping, food & restaurants, etc. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/New_York_Chinatown None of the websites truely list the large number of restaurants with "sub-specialties: Cantonese, Shanghaiese, Taiwanese, Northern (Peking), Vietnamese, Westernized Hong Kong style, etc. doing business in Chinatown - not to mention to the Dim Sum places, BBQ Rices, Noodles & Congee shops, and Bakeries that made/sell easily over 100 different varieies of cakes, pastries & buns, etc. http://www.explorechinatown.com/see/eat.html
binkysmom Posted April 27, 2009 #3 Share Posted April 27, 2009 Don't miss out on the Original Chinatown Ice Cream Factory. It's on 65 Bayard Street (between Mott and Elizabeth). Great flavours like ginger, lychee and green tea. Yum!
