Just back from Carnival Victory

Were on the April 26th sailing out of San Juan. Really enjoyed the entire cruise - always a couple of things in any cruise but overall rate

this cruise a 5 out of 5. The aft balcony we had was WONDERFUL, no motion to speak of and a beautiful place to watch the sun go down. Our steward was fantastic, towel animals every night, always there when we had a question, clean clean stateroom. We always tip them $20 when we meet them for the first time - but he would have been wonderful even if we hadn't I'm sure.

My husband didn't like the smothered chicken one night, but enjoyed the chocolate melting cake every night! We bought the wine package

and that worked great for us. You can get it from the wine bar or in the formalities shop after sailing.

We changed to the late seating for dinner since this cruise was so port intensive and didn't want to rush for dinner - had such wonderful tablemates that we closed the dining room down every night!

Entertainment was okay, but we were usually tired by then and ready for that comfortable bed that was waiting for us. Had room service

one day and wished we had ordered more often.

Ended up spending one extra night in San Juan on the way back when our plane was cancelled due to mechanical problems - missed a shift at work ($$) and apparently trip delay insurance is good for

nothing - oh well.

If anyone has any questions will try to answer...

Hi! We are taking this trip June 14 and we have also chosen late dinner. Did you do an excursion at each port? Did you have a "sea day" where you just stayed on the ship?

The only day we didn't do an excursion was Antigua - had a couples massage that day and had lunch in port - very relaxing. That is probably the only thing we missed on this sailing, a sea day. The late seating worked really well for us.

Have a flight at 7:10 am tomorrow to San Juan and board on Sunday. It's DD's suprise college graduation trip.

:D

Have an independent tour-type excursion reserved for every port (all new for us except St Thomas), but I booked two nights post-cruise at the Marriott Stellaris so I can rest up from my vacation.

Glad to hear you enjoyed it. I'm SO ready for this (well, except I haven't packed, but mentally, I'm ready)!

I expect to be very tired every night, but I don't go to a lot of shows, so don't think I'll miss much. We switched to late dining a couple of cruises ago, and I love it. Usually go to the casino after dinner, then maybe a drink in a lounge.

Did you watch any movies up on the deck in the evening? I don't watch a lot of TV anyway, but I'm thinking DD (just turned 23) would enjoy it.
