Hello!

My husband & I will be taking our first cruise on Explorer of The Seas / Royal Caribbean in June.

Is there any forums to connect with others attending the same cruise (June 6th - 11th)?

Thank you to anyone who is familiar with this info!

Welcome to Cruise Critic and thank you for your post! However, you have posted on the Cruise Blogs & Websites Forum where members share the site for their personal cruise-related travelogue blogs or websites. This is not the correct forum for your post since it is off-topic here. 05.gif

Read the Sticky thread titled What is a ROLL CALL and how do I find mine? at http://boards.cruisecritic.com/showthread.php?t=44773. The thread will tell you about the Cruise Critic Roll Call Forums and how they are the place for you to get to know the other Cruise Critic members sailing with you before the cruise.

Cuizer2 has given you the link to click for your Royal Caribbean Explorer of the Seas "Meet & Mingle" Roll Call thread titled Explorer of the Seas-6-6-09.

If your cruise is 7 days or longer, don't forget to register for the "Meet & Mingle" Party hosted by RCI during your cruise for you and your fellow Roll Call members sailing with you. After getting to know each other on your Roll Call thread prior to your cruise, this will be a time and place with refreshments where you will get to meet face-to-face on the ship. Check out the following links for more information and to register:

- Meet & Mingle Info and RCCL Meet & Mingle FAQ

- Register to attend a Meet & Mingle Party

- Confirmed Meet & Mingle Party List

Also, your fellow Roll Call members may have important information posted in your Roll Call thread. In fact, your Roll Call thread is the ONLY place on Cruise Critic where you and your fellow Roll Call members can post personal ads about sharing tours, excursions, transportation etc. with each other. Your Roll Call thread is a "captive audience" since you are all sailing together!

Since you are new to cruising, click here http://boards.cruisecritic.com/forumdisplay.php?f=97 to research our First Time Cruisers Forum.

Click here http://boards.cruisecritic.com/forumdisplay.php?f=114 to research our Ask a Cruise Question Forum.

To research for information from your fellow Cruise Critic members that have sailed your line, ship or itinerary before, click here http://boards.cruisecritic.com/forumdisplay.php?f=83 for our Royal Caribbean International Forum.

To research for information about your ports of call click here http://boards.cruisecritic.com/forumdisplay.php?f=5 for our Ports of Call Forums. That's where you can research for hotels, tours, excursions, transportation etc. Your fellow Cruise Critic members post their reviews/recommendations there.

Click here http://boards.cruisecritic.com/index.php for the list of all Cruise Critic message board forums and be sure to read all Announcement and Sticky threads at the top of the various forums for very important information or instructions.

Please feel free to use the Search this Forum feature on all Cruise Critic message board forums with your key word or words. It will help narrow down the threads you will want to read during your research. Also, you can see if your inquiry has been asked and answered before. And it probably has... many, many times! 05.gif

Click the Search this Forum feature to open the drop down. Type in your key word or words then click the little Go button. I suggest you do not try a search with too many or too common of key words at one time. This will sometimes overwhelm the search feature with too many threads to scan and it will time out. From time to time, you may receive an error message that says "Search function is down". PLEASE TRY AGAIN in a few moments. This message will often pop up during the busiest times of the day.

The following information may be helpful too:

Be sure to read our FAQ, especially the Getting Started section. You will see how a new topic should be consistent with the specific forum you choose. It also gives a brief summary of the topics covered in some of the forum sections. Other important FAQ sections are Subscriptions (Receiving e-mail notification of replies to posts and threads you specify) and User Maintenance.

In the Guidelines we all agreed to follow when registering for our free membership, please note the Please Browse BEFORE You Post section since many of your questions may have been asked and answered before as mentioned above.

When doing your research, be sure you are on the correct forum. After you have browsed/researched for your topic and possibly not found an answer, word your new inquiry title so the other members scrolling through the thread titles will know exactly the information you seek. This will help the members as they scroll through the thread titles so they can reply to you. It is best to limit each inquiry to only one topic or concerning one cruise line, port of call, etc. You will get more replies that way. Be sure to mention your cruise line, ship & sail date in your inquiry if it will help the members with their answers to you.

If you wonder what some of the icons/symbols/arrows on Cruise Critic mean, just use your mouse to hover your cursor over the item and most often a tool-tip will appear with the name or action.

I sincerely hope this information will be helpful and glad to have you aboard Cruise Critic!

Thank you for all the info!

I have tried & tried to search "Explorer 6-6-09" to locate my crusie rocall in the section that seems to list them. I could not locate it! I know I cannot use the Royal Caribbean Mingle section (which is for longer cruises). Ours is 5 nights to Bermuda.

I tried to look at other cruise sections, since Royal Caribbean does not seem to have their own section for shorter cruises. When I search the ablove info, the seach engine will not offer any posts. I tried to browse the huge number of possible posts that apply to me, but found nothing! I am lost!!! Any assistance as to how to directly locate a post for "Explorer 6-6-09" roll call would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks to anyone who can help a 1st time crusier navigate this website!

Welcome to Cruise Critic. It is hard at the beginning to get familiar with this website but once you do it will be so enjoyable.

In the first response to you -- Post # 2 -- above. Cruizer2 put in the link for your Roll Call. Just click on the link and you will join the others on your Roll Call.

The Explorer is a wonderful ship. If you click on the photo link under my name it will take you to our pictures which include some of the Explorer.

Royal Caribbean has a loyalty program called the Crown and Anchor Society which you can join after your first cruise. You can read about the program on the RCI (Royal Caribbean International) website.

Happy Cruising.

Kathy:)

By clicking your user name RDK58 above the words Cool Cruiser and then Find all posts by RDK58, I see you started a new thread for your sail date on the Royal Caribbean Explorer of the Seas "Meet & Mingle" Roll Call Forum. Another Cruise Critic member that is sailing with you posted a reply to you there. I have since merged your post and their reply into the existing Roll Call thread for your sail date mentioned above. Click here http://boards.cruisecritic.com/showthread.php?t=842508 to go to the merged thread titled Explorer of the Seas-6-6-09 where you will find your post toward the end of the thread.

082502btw_prv.gif, you can click on your user name to find all your previous posts too. As I said, a menu will appear and you click on Find all posts by RDK58. A list of up to the last 250 of your posts will appear showing the names of all the forums where your posts are located. Just click on the first part of your post next to the piece of paper icon. It is underlined since it is a link so you will automatically go to your post in the thread. The list will also show the Replies and Views counts for the thread too.

You might want to subscribe to the thread so you will be aware of any posts to the thread. You will find the instructions in FAQ titled Subscriptions (Receiving e-mail notification of replies to posts and threads you specify) as I mentioned in my previous reply.

All Roll Call threads for Explorer of the Seas cruises are on the one Royal Caribbean Explorer of the Seas "Meet & Mingle" Roll Call Forum. They are all there in one forum no matter how long the cruises are. It is just those 7 days or longer have a party hosted by RCI and a place on the RCI site to register for the party. Roll Call members for the shorter cruises usually plan their own private party or get-together somewhere on the ship during their cruise. You will need to read your Roll Call thread to see if a party or get-together is in the works or not for your cruise.

If you have any other questions about using the Cruise Critic software, please feel free to use the Search this Forum feature on the Need Help Using The Boards? Ask Here! Forum at http://boards.cruisecritic.com/forumdisplay.php?f=163 with your key word or words. That's where members find the "How to ..." type of information for using Cruise Critic's software such as thread subscriptions, avatars, signatures, countdown clocks, etc. You will be able to see if your inquiry topic has already been asked and answered before. If not, please feel free to post your new inquiry on the forum and we will be happy to try to help you with a solution there. Also, we have a Sticky post there titled How To Perform More Detailed and Specific Searches on the Boards at http://boards.cruisecritic.com/showthread.php?t=969846 that may be helpful too.

I truly hope this additional information will be helpful!

Welcome to Cruise Critic.

Kathy:)

So sorry we could not direct you to the actual link for your Roll Call thread! Without your ship and sail date, I can only offer the link http://boards.cruisecritic.com/forumdisplay.php?f=35 to the Royal Caribbean "Meet & Mingle" Roll Calls section. You will need to scroll down the list of ships for your ship and click it. Once the Roll Call forum opens for your ship, scroll down the list of threads looking for one with your sail date in the title.

Hope this helps!
