cccer Posted May 22, 2009 #1 Share Posted May 22, 2009 Hi everyone I need some cruise critic input. We have a balcony for us and an inner for our son and his friend. We talked to his parents in March and they agreed to let him go. Now they say it is to much money and worried about swine flu (some people you just can talk to). We are still trying to work on it, but if he does not go, does anyone know our options. TA said Carnival charges 250 for deposit, but if we don't cancel we can go and say he is not coming. I don't know how this will work since he is a minor and if they will let us on without him. We are working to find another friend, but just trying to find out what we can do if we cannot find one. Thanks
psbtrvlr Posted May 22, 2009 #2 Share Posted May 22, 2009 My niece was in our cabin but checked in later with her parents. We were not held up because she was not with us.
firefly333 Posted May 22, 2009 #3 Share Posted May 22, 2009 If you arent booked early saver, for $50 you can do a name change and someone can go in his place. Your son's cabin would still go for full price. The other kid would only lose his deposit, but then they would charge your son's cabin at full double occupancy price if its a 4A or up. Only a 1A is 150% usually. So, if someone doesnt go and your son still goes, either way the cabin is going to cost the same.
Chacooe Posted May 22, 2009 #4 Share Posted May 22, 2009 If you can't find someone to go with your son, what about him just sharing your room with you, that way it would save you money because he would be considered the thrid person and sometimes the rate for them is only $199 or somewhere around that amount.
