You go directly to the Wyndham the day you want to go there to buy the pass. Kids are the same price.

Thank you!!! I was hoping the kids were a little cheaper. My boys don't eat much at all! But it still seems like the best place for us!

I agree. I have actually been to the Wyndham a few times before....only when I went you could go for free....minus the lunch of course. So its a big difference for me to now have to pay $40 for lunch. I am still deciding between the Wyndham and Breezes. I love the Wyndham slide. I'm a big kid.

So what does the $40 pass include?

The pass includes a buffet lunch at the Seaside Cafe (near the casino), lounge chairs, towels, tubes and mats, pool with slide, maintained beach lagoon with lifeguards, dj by the pool and beach and poolside service.

There's also a bar and a swim up bar. There's restrooms, casino, shopping, ice cream shop, souveniers, daiqari bar as well.

You can also use the Sheraton property as well.. with a swim up bar, heated pool, waterfall etc.. and a grea well maintained beach with lifeguards. Use of beach toys as well. (I saw kayaks and view boards last time I was there. ).

It's well worth the $40.. even for kids.. since they are the ones who have the most fun anyway.

General comment:

All hotels are charging to use their property these days.. as you are paying for them to maintain a safe and comfortable environment and staff to assure your safety, maintain and entertain as well as pick up after you.

In the past, too many cruisers would use the property without spending a dime, and bring there own food/beverage and leave a mess. Hotels are a business.. they can't survive catering to those who don't spend money.

There are pubic beaches for those who don't want to pay for ameneties.

No chairs, restrooms, food and beverage or lifequards.

Do any of the day passes include drinks?

Breezes has an all-inclusive day pass for $60 ($55 with coupon).. it's adults only.. kids must be 14 or older most of the season.. 18 during spring break.

Wyndam's pass does not include alcohol

Thanks. We go in September so hopefully they will be offering them then.

wyndham is closed from August 17th to October 5th 2009.

The Sheraton, next door, will be open.. right now their day room is $99. no word if there will be a day pass for less during that time.

This is their off season.. and some hotels are closing.. and restaurants will have rotating schedules.

Scubagirrl...I appreciate all of your wonderful advice!!

I am trying to decide between going to Atlantis and the Wyndham. In your opinion, what is the better option?

This depends on what you are looking for. Wyndham is generally relaxed, with all the resort amenities that you expect. Pool, slide, dj, bar and grill etc. Maybe a couple hundred or so people hanging out. Cost is $40 includes food.

Atlantis is filled to the brim each day with 4000- 10,000 guests and cruisers and is a busy, noisy very active water park with more than 1/2 the guests being kids.

Cost to use the roped off section of the beach at Atlantis is around $60 - does not include food or pools.

Cost of a aquaventure day pass is $110 - does not include food.

I'm not a fan of Atlantis.. it's just too much.. overcrowded, fake and has no cultural feel.. it may as well be in Vegas..

Wynhdam gives you the feel of the beauty of the islands.

Like I said.. it depends on what your looking for in a vacation.

Thank you!!! I will be cruising solo so I am thinking that the Wyndham may be a better option. I am not interested in water slides and all of that. Just a nice beach where I can lay in the sun, get in the water a bit, and maybe have a drink or two. There is a casino by the Wyndham, right?

This is sounding better and better all the time!

SG, I, too, would like to know about a casino. Is there one on this property?

Also, how far is the Wyndham from Atlantis? Maybe we could spend the beach day at the Wyndham, return to ship to change, go back to the mainland to have a nice dinner somewhere and then gamble a bit at Atlantis before returning to the ship?

How does that sound to you???

I can actually tell you how it is...done that two times. Wyndham and it's casino (right there, steps away and you can enter in a dry suit and cover up, no problem....really nice people there)...did that into the late afternoon.

Returned to the ship for showers and formal night (ate dinner on the ship because it was paid for and great!).

Headed back out for late night at Atlantis. This was truly beautiful and seemed less packed than how people describe the day. We've never done the beach there because it was too expensive for us and just not our thing.

Anyway, it was really fun. We Plan to do the same thing this trip except this time check to see if the Dig is complimentary that hour of the night.

Finally, DONT miss the Shaq across from Wyndham at the bus stop. FRESH drinks, so good with or without "additives" and great people there, too.

I've spent many afternoons solo by the wynhdam pool. It's a great option.

The Casino is just inside the main doors near the bar..

can't miss it.

Can someone tell me what time the lunch at the wyndham starts and ends. Also where is there shade ,by the wyndham or the sheraton beach?

I don't know when the official time that lunch ends.. but I have been there around 2:30 and seen people still seated . I would think that they stop putting fresh food out around 1:30 - 2pm.. and stay open for a while longer... but I don't know for sure.

If you are thinking of going at 2- 2:30 and getting everything fresh.. etc.. i don't think that will happen.

There's shade in several areas..lots of trees, palapas.. shade from the high pool.. etc. Late afternoon .. there's shade from the buildings themselves..

What time are you thinking of going? I would think lunch would be from 11:30 to 2:30.. like most place.

where do they serve lunch at the wynham ???

inside or outside or do you have a choice ??

is it all buffet for the $40 day pass

The $40 pass includes lunch at the Seaside Cafe - inside.. near the Casino. It's a very nice buffet.. the actual cost of the buffet is around $24.. plus 15% gratuity. This doesn't not include alcohol. with the Pass, it's free.

There is an outdoor bar and grill that you can get additional food or beverage.

We were at the Wyndham last October and it was very nice, but we only paid $15 pp. This did not include the buffet, but we had just ate a huge breakfast on the ship. We did order some snacks and drinks by the pool.

Does anyone know if they still offer the $15 pass?

Also, why are they closing? We will be there the end of October again.

Thanks!
