momjkm Posted June 1, 2009 #1 Share Posted June 1, 2009 If the cruise isn't to the caribbean, or somewhere tropical, what kind of music does the pool band play??? Jill

98Charlie Posted June 1, 2009 #4 Share Posted June 1, 2009 Been to Alaska twice and I don't remember there being a pool band. There was a trio (Amadeus - keyboard and 2 singers) playing on embarkation. They may have been out other times but mostly they were in the forward lounge in the evening. burbanum Posted June 1, 2009 #5 Share Posted June 1, 2009 I can tell you that it is not prerecorded and piped through. My husband and I worked on ships and he was in the pool band. In his case, he did caribbean runs and the music was mostly reggae style, but also some instrumental and relaxing style music. It is one of my favorite parts of cruising hearing relaxing and tropical music while laying by the pool!
travelntreats Posted June 1, 2009 #6 Share Posted June 1, 2009 I beg to differ with you.... there is definately "Piped" in music when bands are NOT playing out by the pool area.
