hallmark Posted June 1, 2009 #1 Share Posted June 1, 2009 We are sailing on the Ruby princess Oct 7th out of Venice but are arriving Oct 6th and have read about the Tourist Travel card for water transportation to the hotel from the airport and around Venice. Has anyone purchased these cards and do you know if we can use it for transportation to the ship and from the ship back into San Marco? We are staying at the Hotel Violino d'Oro, has anyone stayed in this hotel? This is our first trip to Europe and have obtained a lot of good information from reading Cruise Critic. Thanks everyone
6rugrats Posted June 1, 2009 #2 Share Posted June 1, 2009 Never stayed there, but I find Tripadvisor to be very useful when I want to find out hotel information: http://www.tripadvisor.com/Hotel_Review-g187870-d238969-Reviews-Hotel_Violino_d_Oro-Venice_Veneto.html Tourist Travel Cards have been discontinued and replaced by Venice Connected. http://www.veniceconnected.com/

Thanks everyone Water bus will not help from airport or ship. Also note the language size restriction on the water bus at 60 inches when adding all three sides. Do you have transportation from airport to hotel and hotel to ship arranged or you depending on the water bus? Look into a water taxi that are very expensive, but I think it is the only way to get close to your hotel. When IO was there, saw lots of people dragging their language around over the bridges and walk ways.
