Crossing the Line

This may sound silly, but I'm an old Shellback from my Navy days; my wife is a Pollywog. Does Princess have a Crossing the Line ceremony on its cruises?

Yes, Princess has a fun ceremony whenever a ship crosses the Equator. You get a certificate signed by the Captain attesting to the crossing.

We did a B2B crossing the equator on Princess some time ago. One leg, yes, we had the Neptune Ceremony in all it's glory, the other leg, nope, just what they called Equator olympics. I enquired about it and was told that the cruise director picks the type of entertainment for the crossing ceremony.

Maybe they learned their lesson now and always do the King Neptune thing for the pollywogs, as I know there were many disappointed passengers on the leg they didn't provide it.

We did the b2b to Manaus in Feb & March. They did the Neptune Ceremony both ways. I think about 200 of the 650 on the ship were on a b2b.

You bet they do. Please enjoy the pictures Bill took this spring on his World Cruise.

Yes, they do although it might not be at the exact time you actually cross the Equator (which could be the middle of the night.) Whether you participate in the ceremony or not, you get a certificate. I've crossed the Equator several times; we even crossed twice on one cruise.
