Hi Jane, wally, Mick and Theresa

We're all coaching down from Manchester airport...

See you all there

Marg, Mally, Angie and Steve:):):)

Hi there Bridmo & co, my wife and I are travelling down on the same date from Manchester. We have already completed 2 previous transatlantic crossings on the old Sundream and Sunbird, but they were from Tenerife. We have never sailed from Southampton before but like everybody on here we are now looking forward to it. We were on the Oceana in the November, 2 years ago. She's a lovely ship. On that cruise we did a fair old bit of the Caribbean.

If there is anybody reading this who hasn't sailed across before, you are in for a very relaxing time. The days just get hotter as the ship nears the tropics. You will know when you reach the tropics, those little birds that skim across the sea are not birds but flying fish.:) Try going up on top deck late at night and enjoy taking in the warm night air. Also the ship's officer on watch usually likes to remind everybody that they have an extra hour in bed of a morning because there will be at least 4 occasions when we put our watches back one hour. So you can still be up enjoying yourself at 1am in the early hours and when you go to bed it's only midnight and you will be fighting fit for a full English in the restaurant first thing of a morning. The waiters come round putting tasty pastries on your plate before you order. If you want a bit more of a lay in use the buffet restaurant, it is open a bit later.

Incidentally, we are travelling from Manchester by P&O courtesy bus but have not got a clue where the bus station is. We booked with Gill's and a couple of months ago I rang and asked them if we were being given free transport down to Southampton. We were told we were not entitled to free transport as we had already received £150.00 on board spending money. So I booked our pick-up from Merseyside with Eavesway. To our surprise P&O recently wrote to us and told us to the contrary. Anyway Gill's travel apologised and our money is being refunded and they have since arranged our coach - leaving Manchester at 8am on the morning of departure

Hope everything turns out well for us all. Hopefully we will see you on the coach - I expect there will be more than just one at Manchester though.;)

Hi Tony & Ann

Although the TA couldn't tell us which coach pick up we'd be on they did say that the coach pick up is between terminals 1 & 2. Hopefully it won't be long before the tickets arrive and then we'll know what time we're departing.

Sooooo excited !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Carol,

Yes you certainly have got an upgrade if you look at the deck plans for Oceana you were on F deck now you should be on D Deck. If it is an LB grade then you will have a very large window that you can actually sit in. Lucky you!!

Regards pick up at Manchester the piick up point iis in the Coach Station so easy to find. The coaches are all liined up and you just go for the time stated and they take your cases and put them in the boot of the coach and then you will not see them till they arrive at your cabin. Please make sure that the labels are on your cases before you give them to the driver. Also make sure you don't put anything in the boot of the coach that you need.

Have a great cruise everyone we have done this so many times.
