Cell Phones on a cruise...

la mer

Recommended Posts

what you need is either a gsm phone or a satellite phone. you can either rent or buy them, depending on your long term need. there are LOTS of reputable vendors out there, depending on where you live. start with either worldcell, roadpost or wcclp. each have websites and options. and they have dealers that can also help.

let me know if you need more info. (can you guess? i am in the telcom biz :))

I have a Motorola Timeport and it's worked all over the world. The charges are much less than calling from the ship's phone, but it's still expensive with the roaming charges. You can call from any port, but not when you're at sea.
