falkcor Posted June 13, 2009 #2 Share Posted June 13, 2009 muster = lifeboat drill. typically before sailaway, it's when all passengers are required to go to their assigned 'muster' station - often at the actual station where you would debark the boat via lifeboat, but also sometimes held in a public area like the show lounge. it is required to participate, and a good idea, so you'll be prepared in the event of an emergency. rkacruiser Posted June 13, 2009 #3 Share Posted June 13, 2009 A Muster Drill is held just before sailing. It is an attempt by the ship's officers to acquaint you with where your lifeboat station is, how to put on your lifevest, and general safety information that one ought to know. It is very important that you attend, be quiet when instructions are being given, and pay attention. Knowing how to get to your lifeboat station from where your stateroom is located could become very important to you in an emergency situation.
