Need advice for colours

Recommended Posts

I am getting married on a beach in Jamaica and I am having trouble deciding on the colours for my flowers and chair ties. My bridesmaids are wearing a light purple (Victorian Lilac from David's Bridal) with white sashes and I am adding a purple sash to my dress. I think that normally people coordinate the chair ties with the bridesmaids dresses but if I do this than the chair with the white slipcover and purple chair tie will look like my dress. This seems a bit too cheesy to me. So my question is if I don't match the chair tie to the bridesmaids dresses what colour should I use? What would look nice with the purple? I love the bridesmaids dresses (the colour looks so nice on everyone) but I am kind of regretting the choice now. Any advice would be appreciated.

Lilac & Platinum were my "colors-to-be" when I was originally planning a land based wedding. Since you are getting married on the beach..I am not sure platinum will work. I believe your best bet with a beach wedding would be to go with and ivory tie. It would match the beach colors and still give it that elegant look...atleast I think so.
