sandbox Posted August 29, 2009 #26 Share Posted August 29, 2009 Sounds like you have good luck! I hear that TA's are popular with "family" so we'll see! What cabin are you in? Maybe we can take the luck out of it and book it! We're in 9533 at the moment. Lori and I are going to talk about the upgrade tonight since the final payment is due. Let me know if you'd like to join "Sandbox" and us at dinner. Working to get a congenial table together. I did Brillance TA 2 years back (that was december though)and you could count the amount of kids on both hands-it was wonderful. Were in cabin 8610 port side-Love the sun. Have a great weekend everyone.
oceanvoyager Posted August 29, 2009 #27 Share Posted August 29, 2009 Is anyone doing "My Time Dining" rather than a traditional seating? I'm sailing solo so I've booked traditional late seating. On my last TA on Legend of the Seas I was lucky and assigned a fun table. But I'd be glad to help form a table! Warren
Twonomads Posted August 30, 2009 #28 Share Posted August 30, 2009 We are - going in to Malaga on Friday the 5th? Looking for hotel info - Anyone hear of don curro? Thanks - PS We are on anytime dining.

But I'd be glad to help form a table! Warren OK Warren, I'll add you to the list. That's put 5 of us there. I'll confirm with all before I make the changes with RCL. I'm guessing I'll have to get conf #'s from all, etc, but we can do that closer in. Anyone else is free to join, just let me know. David BTW, we upgraded to a balcony guarantee today with the final payment. Only about $150 more each to go from the interior to the balcony. Hopefully we'll get the sunny side, but will be glad to have the extra room and balcony either way.
achman228 Posted August 31, 2009 #30 Share Posted August 31, 2009 Here is a link for the Hop on Hop off bus with the detail and pictures. http://www.city-sightseeing.com/index.phtml?command=search&clear-search=true&destinations=malaga A taxi from the Airport to your hotel should be around 15 euros -maybe 20 as they are now adding a tax on any taxi leaving the airport. There is a train link from the airport and costs about 1.50 its cheap and will take about 15 minutes. Good hotel you have picked there. Its about a 10 min walk into the main area. sandbox, thanks for the info. The tour bus is definitely a good choice for our short visit to Malaga. I just did a google search about Torremolinos - looks like a fun place to visit as well. ;)

David, we booked last week during the sale (depoist and final payment were 3 days apart) and the room selection was limited. However, we did manage to get a port side room, 8550. I'm sure you'll enjoy your balcony stateroom regardless where you are assigned. As for the dinner, we always prefer the early seating. It's interesting that many new friends we met last year had late seating as well. However, we still had great fun in other venues. One cruise I was on had about 30 gay men/couples in one group plus the extras like me. One of the bars just became the de facto "gay bar" on board and you could always find someone there to chat up. NashDB Posted August 31, 2009 #33 Share Posted August 31, 2009 Just wondering about the ages and occupations of folks here? David 49 (44 in "online years") Lori 47 (but actually ageless, right?) Lori was formerly my "work wife", but now just my "wife" = 1) knows all about my money; 2) we do lots of things together; 3) we don't have sex. Isn't that the definition of a wife? :D I'm executive director of a national non-profit association for church musicians and sometime studio musician. Lori works for Tennessee administering the indigent defense fund, but formerly was involved in HIV awareness and care in our city (Nashville, TN). That's our story and we're sticking to it. My partner isn't sailing this one. I get tons more vacation time than he does. I'm in a promenade cabin on deck 8 midships overlooking the bridge and the stairs to the casino. oceanvoyager Posted September 2, 2009 #41 Share Posted September 2, 2009 I'm flying Aer Lingus the night before embarkation and they already had strict rules when I booked. So strict that I've already paid extra for going over the free weight allowance for my London to Malaga flight. But the fare itself (counting JFK to LGW Thursday night) was so inexpensive I still saved a ton of cash.
