Do all suite guests get escourted off for excursions?

Thanks Terry!

I was wondering because I was just reading another posters review of their Alaska cruise and they are in the Garden Villa and he made reference to Simone meeting them in the Star Bar and taking them off for their excursions...none of which require tendering.

Hi Susan:

Am I the GV passenger to which you refer?

Simone escorted the passengers from both GVs, as well as several suite passengers, but (as far as I know) this was only in Prince Rupert, because that was the only area where there was potential for a delay (Canadian immigration & customs.)

We didn't get escorted at any other ports and we certainly did not need to be. Nor were we escorted anywhere else around the ship. We would not want to have been, in any case. We're all just regular folks. :)

We did receive a letter with an invitation to access the Chocoholic Buffet 15 minutes ahead of the maddening crowd, via a priority escort from Simone. Two in our group took advantage and loved it.

I agree with you, Simone is awesome! We all loved her! We were also very highly impressed with our butler, Roshan and our steward, Cecilio. Both of these great guys are now off the ship, though and on "vacation". They are both headed to the Gem for their next contract terms.

While Belkys was very sweet to speak with, she was mostly absent...we would run into her and she would say "hi", but that was it.

She did escourt us off the ship at the end of the cruise, which just meant she slipped us past a few other passengers.

We saw our butler the first day, then never again.:)

We had Belkeys in the OS on the Sun to Alaska last July and we NEVER saw or heard from her until disembarkation. She was worthless! She never returned one of our phone calls to make dinner reservations. If I knew she was the concierge on my next cruise I'd choose a different line or ship.

Our Butler Naveen was remarkable! :)

We were in a AC penthouse. We loved Belkys..

I'm curious to know what she did for you?

The cards are usually available in the dining room (often right on the tables, with the waiter's name already filled in) and at the reception desk.

At this point, you could write or email NCl with your comments.

We had two of them in our cabin and then I asked Arturo, our room steward, for more and he gave me a handful! LOL...we filled out at least 5 of them!

You would think that on the survey you would be able to add some comments...but I wasn't able to either.

Maybe if you just send a letter to NCL?

Thanks for your responses. Our room steward, needless to say, is not one of the best. I should have ventured out to the reception desk for some should I know. Well, I will email NCL then, as I want these individuals to be recognized for going beyond the expected and in enhancing our vacation experience on the Star.

Well WinnieinWA, I have been trying to tiptoe around this...but you hit the nail on the head!

When we heard that Simone was not going to be on our sailing and would return to the Star the week after, we seriously considered changing our sailing...but that sailing was $200 more, plus we would have lost our $500 OBC, and our anniversary was during the original week we booked, so we kept it. :( DH, says he will not sail on the Star again, without Simone!

I am wondering if maybe we should send off a letter to corporate about this...it was disappointing to say the least...and on this sailing, we didn't feel nearly as pampered or special as we did last year with Simone....it was absolutely fantastic last year.

Of course we enjoyed ourselves this time and the excursions we took were terrific, the rest of the crew is fabulous, we love eating in Cagneys (which is probably the best perk anyway) but I really don't feel we got to take full advantage of the "suite perks" as we did last year on the same sailing...very different experience.
