kkstexas Posted June 22, 2009 #1 Share Posted June 22, 2009 I promised some of you that I would provide the update. I was very nervous about the trip since the age requirement is 3 to allow the kiddos to stay in the kids club without a parent. My daughter will be 3 next week and some other CC Members told me that they would probably not allow it. I spoke to 2 supervisors in the Princess call center and they told me that it should be fine. Well, I am happy to report that they allowed her in. They acknowledged that it is not something that they would typically do and they would allow us a trial day of leaving her there. She did great and LOVED it! The staff was incredible and we couldn't have been more pleased with the care and endless activities that were provided. kkstexas Posted June 24, 2009 Author #5 Share Posted June 24, 2009 Overall, the cruise went very well. This was my second time to cruise. The first was 4 years ago with Royal Carribean. I felt the Princess cruise was a step above my previous cruise. I thoroughly enjoyed Alaska and am thrilled to have had the opportunity to see that part of the country. However, I am a confirmed sun and island kind of gal. I was very nervous about taking my 2 year old daughter. Princess was incredibly accomodating and we felt the other passengers were very sweet to her and she loved every minute of it. We had only a couple "toddler meltdowns" but they were in our mini suite right before her bed time. Regarding the mini suite, I wouldn't go any other way (unless ofcourse it would be a full suite). The Horizon Court was a bit of a nightmare. Other readers mentioned that the lay out causes chaos and I have to agree with them. I wasn't terribly impressed by the food in the buffet either. The food in the international cafe was fantastic though and my hubby and I adored their daily quiches. We didn't realize until the later part of the cruise that all of that food was also free. They had freshly baked peanut butter and oatmeal cookies throughout the day and that and a cold glass of milk was pure heaven for us! My daughter preferred to spend a good portion of her time with Pelican Princess and my husband and other relatives had a blast in the hot tubs, wine tastings, bingo games, and the casino. We had a couple of spa trips and the treatments were wonderful. I was a little irritated with the lady that gave me my facial though. She tried a little too hard to push me to buy the spa products. It was also obvious there were a few cruise employees that just started their contract b/c they were not a bit helpful when asked where certain things were on the ship. There was also times when there seemed to be significant language barriers with the staff. Although I believe that to be common on most cruise ships. Overall, I would definitely cruise Princess again and can't wait to book some Disney Cruises. We will wait a couple of years for that though!
