Best aft balcony on Sapphire?

Help! We are booked on The Sapphire for a Mexican Riviera cruise in Feb. After reading these boards I realized I booked the worst balcony on the ship (D741) I talked my husband into the aft balcony due to it's extended size since we love to spend time out there. Now I find there is a terrible stench plus a huge beam in the middle of the balcony. Not only that but the vent beside the balcony sticks out so much that you really have an obstructed view. So that I dont make this mistake again.... Has anyone sailed in Sapphire B747 or B748? C 748 or C 753? E 732or E 735? We have always been happy with a Carribe deck balcony midship but wanted to try the coveted aft. Should I just give it up?

Thanks for the great photos. I see there was a lounger on the balcony. Is that standard or did you have to drag one down youself?

We asked for the loungers on the Diamond but that was November 2006. We could not have loungers this past April on the Star. The chairs they have are quite comfortable and you can "sorta" recline

Cheers, Denise

Photos showing pool loungers on the balconies are several years old. Since the Star Princess balcony fire, pool loungers are no longer allowed on Princess passenger cabin balconies. They are not of sufficient fire retardant quality for use on passenger balconies.

Please do not take it upon yourself to 'drag one down' from the pool as you put your cabin steward in a difficult position because he knows it is not allowed but he does not want to upset you by removing it. His supervisor may find it during a cabin inspection and reprimand the cabin steward for allowing the pool lounger.

Your balcony should have 2 chairs with reclining backs and you can use the small table as a foot rest.

As to aft balcony on Sapphire, I would go with C748 or C753 - we have had this aft cabin on other ships and loved it.

Thanks for all the advice. I am looking in to changing to one of the Emerald aft cabins or will just go Carribe desk which we have always been hapy with in the past. I guess an aft might not be in the stars this trip. Hubby does NOT want more movement and with all the posts so far he is already looking like maybe he will trade in balcony time for casino time. NOT a good idea.

C-753 aft on the Sapphire is a great cabin for a BB catagory. We loved this cabin and loved the sound of the wake. Very quiet and the rounded corner gives a view off to the side.

That's our cabin for our B2B in September, can't wait!!!
