Back 2 Back(ers)

Recommended Posts

I have been thinking about a back 2 back next spring. This would be something new for us.

So the question is (for those that have had some experience); When choosing a intinerary, Do you look for (I know personal preference) two different routes(same ship) with different ports; 4 to 5 day sailings each direction; and do you have to specify, when booking, you want the same cabin for both salings? What is the feeling, watching a big percentage of the passengers disembark, while you sit and enjoy your morning coffee????

I'm sure I could do some research an find a thread that covers this, but it is more fun to ask.

Thank You in advance!

It's a lot of fun knowing that you don't have to disembark. We did not have the same cabin when we did it, but it wasn't much trouble .. you just pack the loose things (not the hanging items) and your stuff gets moved to your new cabin.

We did B2B on the Enchantment when the ports were changed due to H1N1, and the ports were substantially different. By sailing time, they had switched back, so we did Cozumel twice. It was actually pretty neat telling people .. oh yeah, we were here the other day.

We choose a different itinerary for each "leg" of our b2b cruises. We went on the Constellation in March, followed by the Majesty in April. Interesting experience going from one ship to another, but not as much of a hassle as I thought. We just had to pack carefully so there wasn't much unpacking on the second cruise.

B2B cruises are a lot of fun, interesting, and make for a very leisurely vacation. Our favorite was a transatlantic repositioning, followed by the first Med cruise a few years ago. That was on the same ship.

We are booked for another b2b on the same ship this October.

The feeling on "turnaround" day is what I call the "neener-neener" effect. :D You are very happy to be continuing to cruise while seeing all the others get off the ship. However, it will be your turn later on. :D

It is nice to have different ports each cruise. We did Mariner Eastern and Eastern Caribbean, and the two cruises were very different. It was nice staying on the ship when others were leaving, but it was also a shame to see friends made on the first cruise go! We booked the same state room for both legs, that made it a lot easier; no moving rooms. Overall, we loved B2B and will be doing it again :)

We're booked on a B2B2B, yes 3 legs, in Sept on the Enchantment. 14nights, 5/4/5 total bliss.

We did several B2B's last year on the Enchantment and Majesty and loved it.

Turn around day varies by ship and by port. Go with the flow, and don't forget to bring your credit card. Even though the ship is supposed to carry over your info, it is hit of miss. If you don't have your credit card present at turnaround, they will make your account a cash account. Not too much of a hassle to fix, but still work to fix.

The best part about turn around day is having the empty ship to yourself.

You will be surprised at how consecutive cruising has changed since your last b2b2b on Enchantment last September.

We just did a b2b on Radiance this past April and the transition from one cruise to the next was flawless...........including credit card carry over. Didn't even have to have a new picture taken. It was all electronically transferred.
