Drews_Cruise Posted July 6, 2009 #1 Share Posted July 6, 2009 We have selected a balcony cabin on the Caribe deck of the Ruby and our friends are in the cabin next door. I noticed that most floors have the connecting balcony door that can be opened between cabins. Most photos I have looked at clearly show the doors between balconies except on the Caribe. Does anyone know if the Caribe actually has the doors between balconies or is it only on the other decks? Does anyone have a photo that shows this?
Sox Fan Cruiser Posted July 6, 2009 #2 Share Posted July 6, 2009 Yes, the balconies on Caribe also have the door that can be opened so that you can pass from one balcony to the other. And with Caribe having the bigger balconies you will now have a REALLY big balcony! :D
Tralynn Posted July 6, 2009 #3 Share Posted July 6, 2009 I don't have a picture of the door opened, but our group had it opened on the Ruby Caribe deck in November. Enjoy!
Toto2Kansas Posted July 6, 2009 #4 Share Posted July 6, 2009 If memory serves me correctly, the only balconys that do not have a connecting door are those that have a firewall between them.

vickie_bernie Posted July 6, 2009 #6 Share Posted July 6, 2009 yes they open too, but the opening isn't any bigger than any other deck. It is a small door about 2.5 feet wide.
Colo Cruiser Posted July 6, 2009 #7 Share Posted July 6, 2009 Firewalls are found where the cabin numbers jump IE: 100-200 series, so if you are both in the same series 100's, 200's etc you will be ok. :)

Canhardlyweight Posted July 6, 2009 #9 Share Posted July 6, 2009 Just to reconfirm, does the Baja deck (on Ruby) have covered balconies and adjoining doors. Thanks

swong Posted July 15, 2009 #11 Share Posted July 15, 2009 we also have cabins next to each other on the Ruby (Caribe deck). So, if rooms are C423 and C427, balcony doors should open? btw, is this a good location since it's near the lifts? Do the elevators open on the stairwell side or on the panoramic lift side? I know there will be foot traffic but hoping that it won't be extremely noisy.

Remember, the lifts are in their own little alcove and none open directly into the hallways. We have often had staterooms in this area of the lifts and never had a problem with noise or too much foot traffic. The only ones using the lift will be those going to their staterooms.
