Personally, I'd get off as soon as they let me. The trip from the port to the station is 10 - 15 minutes, but you also need to add time to get the taxi and to buy your ticket once you get to the station. You'll probably wind up waiting around for a little while, but go into the bar at the station and have some Italian coffee.

ok. we were planning to be ready to get off as soon as we hit port. It says we dock at 7am so am I to assume that they will let us off shortly thereafter? I would much rather sit around at the station knowing that I am where I need to be!! and I will need a coffee by then!!

In July on the Gem we were able to get off by 7:05 or 7:10.
